Dota 2 cheats don't work.

i was playing Dota 2 with bots and i decided to have a little fun with cheats.
i went to the consle, typed sv_cheats 1, and then dota_hero_level 9000. but my charater did not level up at all. even dota_hero_respawn didn't work.

you need to enable cheats before you start a game against bots dude....

im practicing offline with bots so i can be the operator. and all other valve games i've played used "sv_cheats 1" to enable cheats.

i just tried it by myself with ->Play ->Private Games ->create Lobby and then there and everything goes

but i looked in my console and typed the sv_cheats and it was "0"

Are you playing a regular bot game or a private lobby game?
You need to go to private lobby and enable cheats in the match settings prior to starting one.

Also, even with the cheats, you can't go past level 25.

That'd explain it then; no matter what you do, cheats won't work there.

If you wish to play with bots with cheats on then do so "Create Lobby"
Edit settings-
Enable cheats
Spawn bots

It's like a check box and there's only two of them, and you can choose the difficulty too from a dropbox if you want.

just type dota_ dev in console .
ex : old command --> dota_give_gold "amount"
new command --> dota_dev player_givegold "amount"
for other commands --> dota_dev "(type some alphabet it will show possible commands)"

If you create a local lobby, you can edit cvars that would only be accessible by the operator, and use the regular dota_dev commands.
As a side note, sv_cheats 1 for some reason will disable bot movement. Which can be annoying and useful.

So that's how people make the testing things?

or you can just enable cheats then type -wtf in the game chat
then type stuff like -gold 99999 or -lvlup 24
