Noob question: stutter stepping

It seems like you can stutter step heros in dota like in sc2 (attacking, then moving during the period that the attack timer resets, then attacking again, wothout loosing any dps). Im just owndering if someone can confirm this for me as i cant seem to find the answer with google.

canceling backswing animation. just hit S to cancel the animation when the dmg has gone through, just like in any other game such as warcraft 3, starcraft etc
