What makes earthshaker a LANE support?
He doesnt have heal, mana restore, stat boost, so what makes earthshaker a lane support then?

If you can place a good fissure in the right spot, you can give your lane partner (if you're babysitting a carry) a pretty easy kill or two. Even if that's actually initiating, you can call it "lane support" in the early game phase. He also has huge mana issues so you kinda need some support items to be effective with him.

But don't take the Valve standard tags for granted. Vengeful Spirit is also listed as a lane support and you can mid pretty well with her. Hell, you can carry too!
Earthshaker's a support hero because he doesn't require a lot of items to be effective for his team, therefore he can contribute without sapping his team's carry's farm. THat's the definition of a support in dota.

If the enemy team has no decent carries she can totally kick some ass early and mid game, if you know how to build her. But she's actually a better initiator than support, even if those 2 roles often overlap. For example: Tidehunter is a good early game support who becomes an incredible initiating asset in the late game due to his ultimate. Their role is similar: give your team a tactical advantage in teamfights.

Always belive in your opinion, if you think that ES is not Lane support, do not play him like that it is up to you how to play him . I think that Valve asked someone probably IceFrog or some pro teams that what they think about the heroes and that was what they wrote there.

Which is what I was actually saying, lol. Except for hard carries like Spectre, Sniper, Phantom Lancer, Medusa and Faceless Void, whose only job in a match is to rack up kills, no other hero has a clear cut role. You have common and uncommon builds for them; the common ones are what gives them their role tag.
long range stun

I don't play him as lane support though, I like to roam and pull in a tryhard trilane.

yea but at the same time i mean
ES is considered to be a support because he doesn't require much farm, all he really needs is arcane, dagger, and if late game, scepter and other items. So he can really be buying wards and such to help the team along the way and wont affect him by any means.
guys look at the title! LANE support not just support. support in LANE
Where else would you support besides a lane? off the map? In the fountain, sorting items by name and color?
ES has great lane control ability with his fissure. That's why. Obviously you don't stick to your lane for 30 minutes. Now go ahead and mute me cause I dared to tell you abit about how to play ES.
