Zeus OP or how to counter him?

So anyone else think Zeus is a tad OP? Specificially the ult. I was just in a coop match with hard bots, Zeus and Sand King were bot and we were dire, I was Bounty Hunter and Pudge went with me bot. Pudge kept dying and feeding. We ended up with a kind of fed Zeus, I would have had no problem staying in lane if it weren't for Sand King stunning me and then Zeus slapping me three times promptly killing me. Later on in the game his ult took down half my HP. That's ridiculous. And the worst part is that means I can be going back to fountain with less than half my HP left and Zeus can shoot it off at a lucky time killing me in front of it or WHILE HEALING even if I had low enough. That's not right. Now of course I know I'll get flamed for saying a hero's OP, but if he's not OP then how should I counter him? His ult it seems really needs nerfing. Even when he's not fed I think this. He's one of my most hated heroes. His ult is my most hated ult. It's ridiculous. No hero should be able to take down half my HP when I'm nowhere near them.

How to counter Zeus? Get some experience in the game. There is only one good Zeus player int he world, and that is Merlini. And even he doesn't consider Zeus for progames.

Zeus is weak. He has low movespeed. He can be stunned and killed easily due to a low hp pool. He has zero control or escape mechanisms. If you get a bkb, he is useless since he has no right-click attack damage. You can get cheap items that boost your HP like Powertreads and Drums. Magic Stick works wonders.

Last but not least: All fed or farmed heroes are OP. Some more than others. That's the whole point of the game.

Also, hard bots play better than the average dota player.

No,zeus is not op,he only has dat ulti dat can steal kill...multiple kills if they have low hp.

Sphere is not good against Zeus. He will pop it with his Q, then nuke the ♥♥♥♥ out of you with bolts and his q again. Low cooldowns n stuff.

Zeus is OP? This is ridiculous. Yes he's annoying in the beginning, but in later game he's easy to kill. Pick sniper, viper, riki and he's dead.

Zeus no good. Don't expect to survive him as bounty hunter tho, especially without hp items. Also he counters you.

In the laning phase you counter zeus simply with a magic stick. If it's the mid lane, then you can also counter him with quite a few heroes that just outplay him. QoP can dagger him and keep him off the lane before his nuke gets levled. Puck can phase shift to dodge the chain lightning. Shadowfiend can begin pushing the tower in and rune controlling at about level 3-4. Possibly 5 if you're last hitting isnt going well. There's other heroes that specifically beat him pretty badly but those are some big ones. He is terrible at run control, so that helps a bit as well.

As for countering him when you're in a different lane, and just have trouble with his ulti and nuke damage, it depends on who you're playing in how you go about it. If you are any sort of strength initiator, you simply work towards a pipe. If Zeus is the other team's mid hero, then magic damage is going to be their focus for quite a while. Pipe will give you passive magic resistence, and also give your team more survivability against him.

If you are the carry for your team, invest in a stat item of some sort if you aren't agility. So let's say you're CK. Get treads/drums. That should help quite a bit. Then your team should be having someone else working on the pipe anyways, to add some benefit later. If you're an agility carry that needs farming items, simply make sure you dont get phase boots, or boots other than treads if you can help it. Possibly build a magic wand for some stats. You will be building a bkb very soon anyways against a lineup with Zeus as a key player.That gives what you need in the team fights later.

If you're a support, you have to be proactive in helping kill zeus mid a coulple times in your rotation. Zeus is an easy kill early. Buy a smoke, go around after a few minutes and your lane seems somewhat safe, and get your mid a kill on the zeus. When zeus dies early he quickly diminishes in usefulness. Also a couple strength bracers never hurts a support. (If you're warding properly and all that, in a good game, you'll often have to resort to bracers because you just dont have the money to do much else and they offer some hp). Also, GET A MEK! Go to a team fight, let him pop his burst with ulti, and heal your team. That helps more than you know.

Depending on the rest of zeus' lineup, you will probably invest in a heart later if you aren't supporting. That will make you unkillable by him, and he will just become an easy kill in team fights.

So. Zeus lacks mobility, which makes him an easy gank early. He relies on chain llightning for last hitting because his range and damage are terrible. That means you can get a magic stick and counter his viability pretty hard. Mid and late game, there are a majority of items that reduce his potency; pipe, bracers, treads, heart, drums, urn, magic wand, (early when you lack space and want some stats in a slot), even a vanguard if they have a lot of physical attack outside of zeus, or if you're a carry or str that could rely on the regen early.

Don't let the "Zeus sucks you're stupid" stuff get in the way. Most of the people saying he sucks have no idea WHY. They just mimick what they see/hear, and don't have any in depth ideas to share.
