Is there a way to bind AttackMove to the left mouse button?
I come from LoL and I got used to having the attack-move bound to the left mouse button instead of A+click. The selecting and everything else that LMB did before was moved to MMB.
Being able to attack-move just by left clicking made for some very clean stutter-stepping and lessened the burden on my hand.

Basically I need to do this:
Make attack-move smart-cast and bind it to LMB.
Bind everything that was on LMB to MMB, except when clicking the UI, such as in the shop or on the minimap.
RMB stays the way it is.

I googled all this of course, but I can't find anything that helps.

Why would you even want to attack move apart from jungling and pushing lanes late-game?

You Almost NEVER want to use attack move early on in the game. Its only uses are: Jungling, Pushing a lane (When you are farmed up enough to survive a mob of creeps), and that's about it.

hmm, it would probably help when chasing heroes down, easier animation cancelling and stuff

It is horrible design from legacy strategies (red alert) reason why it's bad is because two diametral functions on same button: you can misclick and order unit to move, instead of selecting it. Two functions on same button is actually more mind taxing, because you have to always think of different context and "protect" yourself from misclicks.

You just need to stop playing Red Alert too much, play Starcraft 2 instead. Clicking mouse2 instead of mouse1 is not even mind taxing.

Yes you can do that with console commands (I was able to bind move/attack order to z, for test purpose)

You actually want to use attack-move more than right-click, because it will still prioritize the target you're clicking. That way, even if you missclick on the ground, you won't wade through the minions into the enemy's range by accident.
Being able to attack-move with only one button press is 3 to 4 times faster than the default way.
You also use attack-move to deny farm, very important to be able to do so quickly and efficiently so your timing is perfect.

thinking about it again, it would give you a slightly unfair advantage, wouldn't it?

not on the same level as the armlet macro, but still

Please explain how clicking mouse1 is faster than mouse 2.

Also, how do you select enemy hero to see what items in his inventory?

You also use attack-move to deny farm
so? You can't deny with mouse2 aswell, don't see your point.

he saves himself from having to press A then clicking his targets

say, when chasing a hero down, just click mouse 1 and mouse 2 alternately on the ground to chase and attack with animation cancelling, no need to press A. or when trying to deny, just click mouse 1 onto the target, no A either.

not a big difference, but anyway i don't think any sort of macro should be allowed

If anyone has a spare DOTA 2 key lying around I'd greatly appreciate it if you could pass it along. :)

possible with simple bind [ / alias] console command[s]

You didn't really read my posts, did you?
Clicking LMB is faster than pressing A, then clicking LMB. It may only be a split-second, but these kinda games are all about split-second decisions and actions, so anything to speed you up is vitally important. Also, it's less actions, so you're less likely to hit something wrong.

As I said in the very first post, LMB functions would be moved to MMB.

Lastly, it simply places less strain on your hands.

Would you mind typing out one of those lines? I think I'll be able to figure out the rest on my own once I've seen the right syntax.

I don't know what the armlet macro is, nor am I really interested in that stuff.
Fact is, everybody has different preferences as to how they wish to control their game and by that token you could say that anybody who customizes the keybinds in any game to their liking has an unfair advantage over those who don't. That's just wrong. Either you're lazy and you don't do what you can, or you do and have a good time being able to focus on the right things. That's how pro-gamers do it and I see no reason not to do the same.

Did I ever anywhere say that I can't? I just don't want to, since there is a more efficient method that I've tested for months and have confirmed for myself to be quite superiour.
