Dota 2

Why Dota 1 is still better and how to fix it.
I played all of about an hour of Dota 2 and right away I know I prefer Dota 1. Four big reasons:

1. Selection scheme is completely inferior for skilled players. You can have something selected and still control your hero. Confusing as hell. I want the old way back at least as an option, it was 100% fine for skilled players.

2. Item shop is confusing as hell. Give me back the old way as an option, it was better. No it was not perfect, but this is worse.

3. Where are my basic commands as buttons? Move, attack, stop, HOLD POSITION.

4. Radar icons. Give me an option to show allies as green and enemies as red. Big dot for heroes, little dot for creeps. It was simple, it was easy to see, it was superior.

If you're going to call it 'Dota 2', at least don't take things and make them worse.

no1 is a different problem for me i mean. I can't cancel spell (target or aoe) when i press 1 (hero select) again, i still play dota 1 so i'm getting used to but i don't like that. For other stuff play some more games and in time you'll get used too

The game is still in beta, your entitlement won't change that.

Games usually don't change that much from beta to release besides balance and bug fixes.

Pretty sure it's not your game, brah. Valve >>>> some random people. What's the big deal with putting a few options in to accomodate people like me that like Dota 1?

Play the game a little more before ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. It's hard to get into in the beginning, if you're used to playing DotA. Little tip, look at the settings menu.

The only thingI don't like about Dota2 compared to DotA is that the heroes don't come out with different bits of dialogue when you select them over and over again. Shadowfiend always cracked me up. "I'm a dreadlord, not a druglord." haha!

1. No hero icon on screen means you have to either know the shortcut or hunt down your hero when you lose him. It was fine in dota 1, why is it gone?
Are you really good dota player? Because you should know about center to hero hotkey.
2. Nitpick
3. Nitpick
4. I can tell every spell that is casted

Admit it, you just can't adapt to new engine.

2. All itens in one screen. What would be better?

3. M, A, S and H. And it's customizable.

4. There's an option to make enemys red and allies greens(But why would anyone want that? Low adaptation skills?). And you can change the size of the hero icons on the config file.

2. Chat alert sounds are WAY too quiet.

3. Voice events are excessive, way too many of them

4. Spell effects are not nearly as distinctive as Dota 1, same with character models but that isn't as bad
1. F1(customizable and a very difficult hotkey to learn) or click in your, big and animated, hero portrait.

2. Sound options.

3. Really??? Oo

4. Play for more than 1 hour and you can distinguish every single spell on the game. (Didn't you just complain about voice events? wtf...)

Wrong, very wrong statement about software(and especially game) developing. Even wronger when we are talking about a Valve open beta.

TL;DR: It's very common to find people complaining about new better things. It's historically a fact. Adaptation is the rule. Play the game a little more before doing wrong statements about it. Then you can post real issues.

I wouldn't have a problem if things were 'better'. Like grid hotkeys, that's just 'better'. Everything else is just different. Arguably worse.

I don't think it's too much to expect to be able to at least get the features we got used to in Dota 1 from Dota 2.
