Dota 2
DOTA2 crashed when accepting the match
Hi, Everyone.

I've been facing an issue entering the game for several months now. The problem occurs when accepting a match. As the game attempts to enter the lobby, it immediately crashes and closes.

I’ve noticed that many others are experiencing the same issue and have tried various solutions, such as:

1.Updating the VGA driver.
2.Adding "-high -windowed" to the launch options.
3.Adjusting Windows Firewall settings.
4.Changing the compatibility settings for Dota 2 and Steam.
5.Switching from DirectX to Vulkan.
6.Starting in an offline lobby before beginning an online match.
7.Uninstalling and reinstalling Dota 2.
8. Change all VIDEO setting to lowest

Unfortunately, none of these methods have worked for me. I can't even access the demo hero mode.

Here are my computer specs:

-CPU: i7 6700K
-VGA: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
-RAM: 32GB
-Windows: 10 Pro
One thing to note is that I installed the game on drive D: instead of C: due to insufficient space, but this setup had worked fine before. However, after a patch update several months ago, I’ve been unable to play the game at all.

If anyone has encountered this issue or has a potential solution, I’d greatly appreciate your advice!

Don't say VGA, that's the old graphics standard, the graphics card is the GPU.

My Dota is also installed on Drive D (same space limitation on C as you), no issues.

I don't think it's a Vulkan / DirectX issue especially on nVidia, my test of Vulkan is there is a big noticeable lag as new textures are revealed in fog of war, making that option unusable for me. Direct X is fine, but is your Direct X up to date? (Windows update)

Firewall settings wont cause the crash.

If you have anti-virus I think you need to set your Steam Library foider as a whitelist folder so the scanner won't keep scanning temporary files the game generates or something like that. Try white listing your Steam Library if you have anti-virus.

Something is strange that I download Dota from Steam china and then open it on steam which make game worked.. I try to open steam version at the same time, it still crashed.

Here is some suggestions from Velkix3 on github, hope it can help you if it's still have issues after using my methods :

The fix of that issue is ¿you remember the small window where you click verify integrity files? is in the same tab from that option but im refering about some space option used for launch option you add -map dota to load the map right when launching the game and not during pick phase, additionally you can configure the nvidia app on graphics tab, global settings tab there is an option named shader cache size and put it on 100 gb to fix unstability during in game matches like stutters or crashes
