So why can't I watch my friends play dota?

There used to be a drop down menu when I would click a friends name while in the game client, and it would give me the option to Watch Game, but it's not there. What happened, did they remove it?

I am having this same problem with just 1 friend, who happens to be the one that i party the most and watch games with.

Are you using the ingame friends list, or steam overlay? It works fine for me with the ingame list.

I'm having this issue sometimes too... don't know why the watch game button doesn't appear for some friends

Same here, it's really random and relaunching dota doesn't fix it.

Mine didn't work, and then restarting steam also didn't work, and then after I played my own game and then tried again it let me. It seems match specific for me, although it's only happened twice.

i have the watch button but whenever i try to watch it loads for like 1 min and then dismisses me can someone help me ?

hey i have the same error. why cant i watch my friends game? i can watch other friends except this 1 friend of mine. Its like 1-2 weeks till i last saw hes game lol. sorry for bad english
