GL HF
I've been saying this for years since Starcraft I. Yes, before brood wars.

It means Good luck having fun.
But it seems along the way there has been a misinterpretation of GL HF.
People apparently thinks it means good luck, have fun.

That makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.

Umm, why cant it mean both things? I dont want to insult my opponent, but I would like to show a little respect towards them. Saying good luck and have fun helps create a friendly atmosphere for the game.

Hm, I used GL even before sc1, and then somewhere in the middle someone started using hf separately, and at some point they merged into gl hf, meaning good luck have fun, and i hear for the first time "good luck having fun" variant. But, I assume, it is quite legit and probably evolved naturally in ur (and probably other) social group(s).

Likewise gg, I always thought it's a good game in the meaning that u respect or admire the opponents play and it really doesnt matter how ur team performed, but recently some people in dota said that they refer to it as admiration of a game in general, meaning that if u played bad, u will insult them saying gg at the end, cause the game was bad on ur side... Which is kind of strange for me, but i guesss, again, it just comes from different society groups, and i just used to play friendlier ones before dota2...
