People get impatient if you pause a game and don't state why you need to pause though.
As for surrendering, there is none. This was a purposeful design choice that the community is a little split on. Personally, I like it since it forces you to play out a good game. There are a lot of players who will just give up the moment things aren't going perfectly.
And it also makes you waste alot of time when enemy team camps at your fountain just to get kills that does not matter , it's not like d2 has stats database like HON to measure ur KDr , KDA , APM , cd , ck etc ....... but idiots still do it .
They need to add a new button for reporting this activity
I was in a game yesterday where the opposing team had 28-4 at 12mins from feeders and they didn't push fountain till 42mins like the game should of been over 20mins sooner at the worst.
People purposefully prolonging a game needlessly just so they can farm items is one of the most annoying things in a game. Completely wasting everyones time just so they can farm up a rapier they don't need to finish. They were just in their jungle not even trying to push for a solid 20mins killing feeders that came out. Total bull.
There should be low q's handed out for not actually playing the objective. If you wanna farm items and level up a char go play wow.
As a new player, some of the advice I hear most often is to play cautious and don't get cocky. The vast majority of my deaths come from pushing a lane when we've lost track of the enemy or staying too long trying to get a tower down.
Reversals and comebacks happen when players get overly aggressive and try to single-man the entire other team; I've been on both sides of that tactic. Playing it safe and not moving in for the kill until you are assured of victory seems like a perfectly valid strategy to me.
Is there a manual for all the commands?
Btw... since you are new on dotes, try not to pick carries too much and to know how to play all the roles. It might help since sometimes you need to very flexible in some matches.
^^The above post is terrible advice and will lead to unintentional abandons. "Abandoning" is not the same as "surrendering". Abandoning a match is leaving, not a game mechanic forfeit.
The forfeit mechanic is only in private matches now and is initiated by typing "gg" into all chat. F9 is pause and F9 is unpause though you only get 1 for a set amount of time so you cant indefinitely stall the game.
