We don't need reddit, we can make your post big here. Valve should really prohibit this app.
Overwolf is weird: even my Logitech G Hub (it's an official app from Logitech, to help me configure my headphones and mouse) has the option to add a hotkey to it and discord: and I never installed Overwolf.
I understand it's a popular app, the the flaws the app exploit are basically due to the fact that Dota API is open for Data Collection. But still, it's unfair.
I own a UltraWide monitor, and it gives a huge edge already: the interface is the same size, but more evenly spread, so I get a much clearer screen. But it falls under the same category as having a good mouse and good keyboard, or having a good computer that runs smoothly with a decent FPS, so I don't consider it cheating.
It's not having double standards, it is just that these things are apples and oranges: I could install Overwolf to get an extra advantage - like any user - since it's allowed by Valve. But I refuse to, since I consider it a violation of privacy - even with private status, people with that app can still see what you picked previous game, it's ludicrous.
I would not be surprised if someone at VALVE is behind Overwolf: not as the owner, but as a co-developer side gig. That is the only reasonable explanation why Valve doesn't ban Overwolf.
There is no need to sue: Overwolf just need to be prohibited, and running it while Running Dota can cause a ban. IF the app try to "hide", then it's basically the same as a hack or a script - the definition of cheating.
No no no: Steam has some of the best security IT guys in the world working for them. And of course, they deal with Valve products aswell.
The one to blame, for real, is ICEFROG, since he is the lead developer of Dota 2 and is allowing this Overwolf run without punishment. It's all on the DEVS.

Please, if you agree, gives a thumbs up in there.
consider this post as valve competency
I'd say adding a link to a thread you created making accusatory comments about Valve Employee being involved in/with these sites wasn't your smartest move.
A bit odd given how you recently tried/failed to secure an employment role with valve. Almost sounds bitter....
A lesson to be learned I guess :)
Edit: After looking at the link it has been made clear to me that:
a) You don't understand/respect what a the github fourm is.... given how you have posted a hate thread in a help section
b) You're still craving recognition in the community, no matter what community it is.
c) You're the type of person who likes their own posts and dislikes criticism (kind of knew that already)
d) No matter the platform you still need to write an essay to get your point across.
A company like Valve will go bankrupt if they try to go after even 5% of cheat developers for their game. This will be just waste of millions of dollars to actually go and attempt to legally challenge these half-anonymous projects, that geographically are far away from valve and unlikely that local authorities will just cooperate with valve.
You shut down one website somehow and 3 will spawn. By the same people. And Valve aren't masters of the web or business registartion or programming. They can't just go on the web and shut down something.
They just... can't be bothered with going after someone who will never pay valve a dime in any legal outcome and will rerelease their program under new name.
This thread being filled with people banned for senseless insults and baseless conspiracy theories doesn't exactly instill confidence either.
Very true, although it is only 2 people.
If only they cleansed the "rigged matchmaking" conspiracy threads like this 😆
