Dota 2
FPS drops as game goes longer on high end PC.
I looked for a ton of posts on reddit and I find no solution on this issue. I have a high end PC with Ryze 7600x and 4070 super windforce. I don't understand how the game has perfect fps with everything on ultra, but then as the game progresses and more spells happen, the fps just drops.
Then sometimes it goes back up. It's not like a huge stutter, but I can see it for sure.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Test : try without any shader. to see if it's related?

What are your other specs?

bro i build my own PC that only cost $500 and i can play dota ultra in 120fps
if you have high end pc but its bottleneck your hardware its pointless
my PC spec

Proci AMD FX8350
Motherbord Asus Sabertooth
GPU AMD RX570 4gb vram
Gskilll 16gb kit ddr3
SSD Samsung evo 850 512gb (for steam and Windows)

As soon as memory starts to run out, it starts caching to disk. The larger this cache, the lower the system performance. Lower performance means lower fps. Of course it doesn't happen instantly.

I am experiencing the similar issue since 2 days ago. My desktop has 128 GB RAM so it doesn’t sound like a RAM issue. My GPU is 1080

It's their stupid map that makes FPS go lower in the late game.

You may look at the cpu graph / memory use graphics in the background (task manager or any other tool, you can make it run on another display)..

a bit off-topic:
Often, Script systems with garbage collector (no explicit memory management) lead the system to accumulate enormous number of dead/unused objects in memory, staying here forever, since they are not "collected" , they are referenced by some "thing" somewhere. the internal lists of objects in the system are only growing, making complexity exponentially grow... at the end, no matter your CPU power, you'll hog it.

Thank to "modern" languages with no explicit memory management (too hard for the lazy programmers, or to costly for the greedy producer).

It's been known from ages (in java, in python, in lua, in javascript, in perl ... in any language where you don't explicitly define the memory you'll use, free, re-use, keep, in any system that is not viewed like a closed one, with limited ressources, to optimize cleverly to the max.

A bit of thinking about this :

it's been like this on the web, in servers, in any PC, on smartphones etc the entire world is using like 10 times the ressources necessary to obtain the same result in an optimized world. Because people aren't patient, nor altruists , they don't care if good things arise after their death , they prefer unoptimized things, destroying the future, for them, now.

PS: may be it's absolutly unrelated to this , you should just check your "memory use" and "cpu use" during a match. and look at how they change or not. and see if there is a correlation or not.

Corsair CX750, 80+ Bronze, 750W energy source
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Windforce OC 12GB GDDR6X 192-bit DLSS 3.0
GIGABYTE B650 GAMING X AX V2 Motherboard
Samsung SSD 1TB.

There is just no way the specs are the issue or RAM or anything like that. I run new games at max settings without a problem.

Bro no way you play the game on ultra settings at 120fps with that GPU.
Let's be realistic here.

How can my PC be bottleneck only in dota2??

Dota 2 engine is written in C++
But no one seems to be bothered with a memory management.
Because the old devs are gone and no one knows where to look.

i think it also depends on what resoliution u play, have u 2 -3 monitors and else

I play native 1080 and only 1 monitor. I installed MSI afterburner and it says my FPS is constant 141, as I set it up to be, max 141..but it sitll randomly dips in some team fights especially with PL or like enigma units.
MSI afterburner states I use just 30% of my GPU max and like 30% of CPU. Very little resources used.
