A4-6300 with GT 1030

Hi. I have A4-6300 CPU and im planning to buy GT 1030 GPU, I just want to play Dota2 in its low graphics. Do you think it will become smooth?

long story short:
stay away from dota2. i bought mid/high end pc 6 years ago.
now, dota loading time to menu: 2 minutes
loading game: 2 minutes
10-20 fps.

go try game by yourself ; check developer forum, general forum
10 years of non-solved issues.

stay away from dota2

maybe dota2 owners will change their minds and start caring about product and customers.
but now its opposite

stay away from dota2; go do something else, other game, actibity, school, friends, job, free time etc

need more proof? /w me

Mid/high end pc with what sounds like a standard HDD.
Can also use the command -novid to skip the loading cinematic etc.

Very slim chance of being able to play the game, if you do manage to run the game it will look like crap and be about 30fps max. Chances are it will freeze up during big team fights.

tbh i'd be looking at other gpu's if the option is available.
Buy a 1030 is wasted money for the performance gain.

With a 1030, the game will technically launch and run, but actual gameplay will be horrible. Not worth it

Define "smooth"?

I still run Dota on my old PC: Celeron E3400, 8 Gb DDR3, GT610 with passive cooling running deforced. I get 60-40 (massive fights) FPS in 1024x768 which is "smooth" for me. Tried it on workstation with all that 4k and wasn't impressed: see zero reasons to reduce lifetime of powerful PC for a game in general and for a game with cartoon graphics from 2010 especially. So you definitely can play Dota 2 with OP setup if you're ready for...compromises. But of course buy at least GTX650 - no reasons for GTXXX in 2023 if you don't get in for free.

It's interesting that you're able to play in such relatively high resolution with such weak CPU. Your CPU is a bottleneck here because Dota rely on CPU more than GPU. So i suppose no GTX will help: you need at least good ol' Core2Quad and then appropriate GPU. How much FPS you get with all this? If you lower resolution then its ok - my system is even weaker in general. How much RAM you have btw? I managed to hack (official MB specs shows 4Gb max) for 8Gb for such old weak PC - typically they have 2 to 4 GB. Also maybe disks can affect performance of such weak systems: i have HDD, but Steam folder is placed on SSD despite it sits in external USB 2.0 box. Anyway, most unoptimized game in history - Dota 2 can run even on unbelievably weak PCs and yes, its completely playable.
