Lol matchmaking is a joke because when you choose two roles you want it gives you third when you don't even have a character for it.
I'd rather that then what we currently have, which is literally nothing. & "Use this opportunity to learn to communicate" Except most new players ALSO don't communicate well if at all. So when I ask what position/role everyone's going, often they don't even respond & just do their own thing. Fu<king unbearable
There isn't enough time in-between drafts to coordinate especially for new players. The best that you can do is to pick last and fill.
Better to practice and get calibrated better later anyways.
It's not even about not getting the role I want, it's about knowing what role I'm effectively filled into in the 1st place. WAY too many times have my teammates just done whatever the hell they wanted which sometimes resulted in 3 of them going mid or just everyone wandering around the map all willy nilly even during laning phase. Actually unplayable
Usually, the role that is not fullfilled is support (but not always).
Many people dislike supporting so if you support, they are happy, and you'll probably learn the game / your support hero with less loss..
Also, I hope you did the tutorials and play some matchs with new player mode, before jumping in the wild.
