In this game are toxic players from start to end, so you can mute them, but they can still be toxic and grief you.
They can still tip you, when you die, abuse abilitys, bodyblock you, follow you and steal farm/kills.
They will tell in all chat to everybody report you, and if some people do, you will get punished and have to play single draft games, get chat banned(even if you didnt bad chat at all), they can even get you time banned.

so i recommend, if you are not into these type of things, just play a different game or moba. GL Buddy

New player match till you are comfortable and understood one hero.

Here is the progression to follow, pick a beginner hero (e.g sniper/witch doctor/etc), go to demo hero and test all the skills of that hero, once you understood the hero, try playing in new player mode (if it's too hard or you don't like the match you can always leave and there will be no penalty), train again and come back, once you played 10-20 new player match with that hero, play turbo (more xp and coin than unranked/ranked) play 10-20 matches, now do that in unranked then try ranked.

Remember, Dota 2 is a team game, even if one person messes up there is a chance that the whole team will lose. It is your job to learn what the hero does before you pick them and learn mechanics of dota in general. If you don't want to put it in the effort to do the bare minimum then this game is not for you.

nothing will change, wheither you are 10 matches or 25000 matches. You will make all kinds of mistakes at all times and it is fine. Screaming and threats of violence will continue either way, regardless of your skill / play style / experience.

I suggest to only play turbo if you truly like this mode. Certain generations do indeed learn faster and maybe it is for them, but some prefer much slower matches

You can't "win" this game, you can only watch your own emotions. Notice, how any player who is attacking you is generally causing their own negativity to themselves by expecting you to be executing their game plan (the plan you never even heard of) and getting enraged when they see something different from you and from the match.

Dota2 is mainly for Dinosaurs. No welcome culture. As a Dota2 player you are captured between a long learning phase and a long stagnation phase. But Dota2 is best at the short climbing phase in between.

Honestly, this is one of the toughest mobas out there. If you've no prior experience you're for certain gonna get stomped around for a while.
I'd stick to turbo mode for casual matches or find some friends who may be able to explain things to you.

I myself, would be happy to explain the mechanics and give tips on how to play. Add me if you ever wanna play!

Sadly though, do be prepared to be yelled at a lot, both through text and voice chat. I highly recommend muting people at the slightest hint of flaming; this community can get pretty vile at times.

Is that the problem with this player though? Or the match maker? I would say the latter

Neither, dota is just a really complex game with painstakingly bad tutorials. It also tends to attract the most emotionally unstable people, who freak out and scream whenever a match starts to tip in the enemy's favor.

its not a very good advice to recommend turbo for new players as this game mode is nothing like the normal game and its super imbalanced. they will learn nothing from this.

also there are alot of people who play exclusively only turbo and they'll get just as mad at you as anyone playing the normal game. you can't escape the flame. all you can do is to mute them if you don't want to hear them.

i highly recommend playing against bots to learn the ropes and have a basic understanding of the game. not knowing about something is not a good excuse to throw a match, because you can know if you had done the training in bot games. of course some tech cannot be learned in bot games but all the basics you can learn.
