I want to play Dota 2 on steam deck using the controller but I don’t know why it won’t work can someone help me please?

So I downloaded Dota 2 on my deck, I’ve been trying to play it with the controller layout that valve has preset but everytime I get in a match the controller doesn’t work. I’ve seen where there is a a controller layout for the game (for example where a, b, x and y are the abilities) but it won’t work and I don’t know how to enable controller support to allow it to work. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’d really appreciate it.

you should go controller settings and set to dota 2 official gamepad I think.

in your library right click on dota2 icon go to manage and there are an option set up controller layout
