need tips for invoker

I got used to all spells combinations pretty fast, i can do combos fast ( i have fast fingers), been playing invoker for last 30 hours and im still sometimes feeding in the mid. Will it come with practice?

well experience is what i meant instead of practice*, if i try more and dont give up, play even more matches, can i get better at not-feeding mid? My problem is that sometimes in early game someone from bottomline comes to mid already overpowered ( killed somoene for twice or even more) and in early game i cant do much damage to him ( can only be finisher), i only can control him

- If they are ganking you, place a ward so you can see if they are coming.
- Get used to Ghostwalk, cold snap, tornado. ghostwalk for run, coldsnap and tornado for cancel their attack or buying you time to use ghost walk to run.
- If you saw you can't survive in mid, go for exort, just 2,3 lvl of exort is enough for meteor. 1-drop the meteor and go for farm in near jungle. 2-hide in trees and use your forge to farm.

But still, spamming 1 specific hero wont work. there is counterpick. you might picking invoker as last pick, but not knowing that 4 enemy hero is your counter pick.

If you are new to invoker i suggest you to practice this hero in Bot games + Arcade (overthrow , ...) + Look at dotabuff for counters and counterpicks.

If you see bara is running you - just tornado or coldsnap him. Gank over. If anyone else comes most cases qqw is enough for unprepared ganks.

Also you can activate both watchers to have vision on most approach pathes and it lasts for 6 minutes - enough so your level difference will make most supports run from you, not after.

Don't "practice" on turbo for anything but turbo. You need to practice normal sustain conditions.

There is no cookie cutter way to win, but I already told you I e you can try.

You sit on your high ground by the river, pull creeps through aggro by forge if nessesary, if not harass opponent, and get exp advantage from taking set up kills on other lanes, most likely your easy lane to prevent support from winning his lane and come ganking you. If they do you tornado them while running around trees near your tower and screaming for help like a little bitсh for POS4 NOT the pos5 came do something. If they don't have dust you qqw and enjoy free Regen as your opponent lose exp to his ganking teammate

The point is - invoker NEEDS communication or great awareness.

I don't go much into awareness learning outside of fact that you need to lock several camera position so you could instantly watch other lanes and do this when you not hitting creeps or opponent by instantly switching set points. Yes it's hard. Yes it's how global heroes are played if they can't communicate/high level. If you aren't high level - communication is your cheat.

Your invoker must be skillful + Aggro enough in a way to maintain farm and pressure on lane at the same time. Roaming and awareness. Its not an easy hero to function in game not to say just mastering it. At my peak of using invoker against competition players i barely tip the average level of invoker users. you cannot focus too much on yourself and you cannot neglect yourself at the same time.

i know he is a complicated hero, and takes a lot of time to master or at least to play average on him, but he is so interesting to me, i could play some easy chars and be more helpful, but i wouldnt enjoy game that much then.

if youre interested, im getting much better already, can do 7-8 kills, hell ton of assists ( got 27 recently), and die 4 times or so. Thanks yall for tips!!

you gain wins with experience and only way to get experience is to keep spamming 1 hero. Invoker. I had exact same issues, i tried mid, safelane, offlane, suport,roam.... you name it and i tried it, i fed all the roles.

by playing one hero all day every day eventually i became good and now i am winning almost every game because of experience.

people here will tell you picks and counter picks, i say no. experience and thats it. Good luck mister.

thanks tho, yes, i agree experience helps a lot. my teammate who used to argue with me when i lost mid, now he likes my game
