Alchemist's Concoction: How do I throw it?

Everytime I activate it, I get the countdown but the damn alch won't throw it. Then it blows up in my face. Am I missing something?

yes... you have to choose the target -_-

I did. I click on the damn enemy hero and it still doesn't go off. Other activate and click abilities work fine.

You need to use the ability again while the countdown is active, then target an enemy hero.

like the ancient apparition ulti, you have to press once for it to begin and then a 2nd time for it to actually work

Press it once to pull the pin from the grenade then choose a target and press it again to throw the grenade at said target. You have 6 seconds to throw it before it overcooks and explodes in ur hand. The longer you wait to throw it, the more damage it does and the longer it stuns an enemy hero. Example - if you throw it when it has 0.5 seconds on the timer, it will do very high damage and stun for a considerable amount longer than say, if you threw it when the timer was on 5.0secs to go.
