Gank/Roam Difference

Good evening people,i got a question for you. What is exactly a difference beetween roaming and ganking? As i read roaming is moving around map for some reasons,warding,helping to kill. So example: We trilane bottom,carry farming,one support staing with him,second support is moving ( roaming ) everywhere else to ward or helping kill at mid for example. But,in many games you can see midder writing..."gonna gank top" so he went top for kill. Isnt it definition of roaming? So please, tell me whats exactly the difference. Im just imagining that roam is term just for moving,but once you arrive to other lane the term for grouping up there ( doesnt matter if 3 people or five?) is gank? So how actually use it when doing 3/1/1? Carry,support,another support while one of them supports moving around for wards,kills etc. Midder is doing exactly the same thing. My english isnt really good so i will try to mak a story about it:

Night Stalker laning with treant and crystal maiden for example at bottom lane radient. Ns and CM left the lane and went mid to help rubick about kill. [ Is this definition of roam? ] So they arrived,grouped up,positioned and killed some guy [ is this definition of gank? ]

One more question: So heroes in every lane can gank/roam. It doesnt matter where you lane?You can roam/gank to every lane from every lane? And whats the difference or definition of that terms?

Roaming is the general process of moving around the map. Ganking is the application of roaming with the explicit purpose of attacking the enemy hero.

Roaming feels more like going into the jungle looking for pickoffs, and ganking feels more like forcing a fight in a lane or at the creep wave after laning.

Roaming, you might not have a target. Ganking you usually have a target in mind, like a lion showing solo on a dead lane.

That's my opinion at least.
