Wraith King or Skeleton King?

So from the looks of it, good ol' Skeleton King is going to be replaced by the Wraith King. Any thoughts? Personally I think that they should have just done a skill rework for Skeleton King (since he basically did nothing but perform as an overpowered creep until extreme late game, and even then), but instead they just gave him a visual nerf. LONG LIVE THE KING OF BONES!

My guess is Skeleton King will remain the same, and this event will reward some people with a set that changes him to Wraith King, along with spell icons and stuff, just like those Legion Commander's items.

I'm hoping you're right. I've looked it up and Wraith King already has a whole bunch of custom lines, and rival lines as well. Seems like a bit much for a skin, but hopefully it's just that.

I hope that he will become Skeleton King again, but if it is an issue with Blizzard then it might be difficult.

I dare say it's an issue with Blizzard and rights to heroes. Exactly the same with why Wind Runner, Necrolyte etc got their names changed. Looks like they are protecting themselves from being sued.

When it comes to names you can't sue over copyright issues, except if they are in direct reference. When it comes to DOTA, Blizzard suing Valve over Skeleton King is just as justified as the Poe family suing anyone who used the name Nevermore. Windrunner was changed because the name is a direct reference to Sylvanas Windrunner. Skeleton King is simply a title that refers to a Skeletal King. If that was the case, Acti-Blizzard should sue that children's TV show, Villains. It's not an infringement, and frankly the change is rather stupid.

I find that Aghny pretty much sums up the physical aspects of the new WK, while Leroy summarize what I liked about SK's persona, not that I didn't like how Skeleton King looked to begin with. My personal take on the change is that it doesn't even match the lore well. I mean, Skeleton King was a megalomaniac, and an egotistical madman. That's why he made his empire of bones, to match HIM. But Wraith King? No. He's a wraith. He is making a kingdom of bones, a thing that in his speech files he makes fun of all the time. Wraith King thinks bones are lame, and so he makes an empire of bones. Makes sense, right?

VALVE, SAY THAT THIS IS A DUMB JOKE AND GET US SKELETON KING BACK! Or buy off Blizzard from Activision and just get all our... everything back! That'd be awesome...

you do know that Wraith king is the evolved form of skeleton king, right? he even says " I miss my bones"
