Community items?

Hi, i see items being sold in community but not on the dota 2 shop, are these skins visible to others or just myself if equipped?

You are new to Dota, huh? There are some cosmetics that you can only buy from the market, they either never were or aren't any longer available in the Dota 2 store. Almost all cosmetics/items are visible to others as well as visible for you (e.g hero cosmetics). Some things are only visible/audible to you (Hud, Announcer, ..).

When buying you just need to make sure to buy the thing you want, because sometimes the items from the store and market are different and the icons look the same (loading screens and set bundles have the same icons for example)...

For example storm spirit has a costume being sold on community market but its not in the dota 2 shop, if i bought it would it be the same as other costumes

Those items are part of sets which usually can either be bought in the store or are part of a set in a treasure.

Nope not new to dota 2, 600 hours played but i AM new to buying costumes etc. I just wanted to know if the costumes that arent available on the dota 22 store are genuine like the ones on the dota 2 store.

I know how cosmetics work, i have many costumes from the store. i just didnt reealise some werent available to buy. i thought maybe the ones on the community market that are excluded from the dota 2 store were workshop items.

It's generally cheaper to buy items seperately from the market than buying the set bundle from the market or store or gambling on a treasure chest. You can take a look at the items that are available for each hero in the wiki[dota2.gamepedia.com]. You can also preview how items will look ingame at http://www.dotahattery.com (without particle effects though...).
