Cannot progress in MMR whatsoever... this is ridiculous
Now, i don't want to sound like a total noob, even though I technically am, but I'm having an incredibly frustrating time with trying to raise my MMR and dota in general. When i was first calibrated for ranked i was put at just over 1k, which was odd considering i won and did well in a majority of my calibration games. Ever since that time a few months ago, things have gone nowhere but downhill. every once and a while i get a few wins, followed by a massive streak of 7 or 8 losses. In fact just a few minutes ago I lost for the 8th time in a row yet again. And almost every single time, it's because either my team is full of feeders or the other team picks the stereotypically noob heroes (Riki, drow, sniper, viper, blood, etc.) and my teammates have no idea how to counter them. I will admit I make my mistakes but the majority of the time I lose it is because of my teammates. Now sitting just above 500 MMR, this is incredibly frustrating. I love the game but i simply cannot have fun anymore because of this.

If you're so much better then your teammates, link your DotAbuff so we can check it out.

Not sure if troll or you're actually being serious.
Although if you actually are serious, insta-pick Tinker and that should get you to at least 4k fast

Until you realize that you are the problem, you will never improve.

There are no "noob" heroes. Only worse and better players behind them...

allow me to rephrase that; they aren't noob heroes, they are easily played heroes. Also, i don't claim to be better than them, nor do i claim to even be partially good at this game. I just feel that a lot of the time a good chunk of the blame is on at least one person on my team.

That's always going to be true. The thing to realize is that the same players are on the enemy team, and the only thing you have control of is your play.

The biggest thing you can do in DotA to get better at that MMR is improving your mechanics. Make sure your keybinds are functional, imrpove your last hitting, etc. Even on a support, at that MMR, you can outfarm everyone if you can actually last hit and being up a sheep or a necrobook when AMs are still going for Battlefury can win games.

alright... well any heroes you recommend for a general increase in my win rate? I'm pretty good as jug, clinkz, cm, and ck, but I'm ok at others as well.

If you're relying on specific heroes, you're looking for a crutch. Just play whomever you like, it actually doesn't matter.

If you team is the problem, then play rat dota and like someone above said Pick Tinker, Nature Prophet, Lycan. EZ wins

I stopped playing ranked the second i found out MMR is based off of winning or losing. I would go back if it gave you points based on Farm, kills, assist, towers taken, denies, and winning or losing too, and was scored by your skill instead of just winning or losing the game.

Winning or losing is your skill in the game. As is, it's the only metric that can be measured that is fair, transparent, and doesn't cause people to play different to try and game the system.

Yeah , but when you are doing good have tons of kills, farm, denies, towers taken, and someone on your team feeds, dc, leaves, or doesn't help in team fights it cost you mmr... makes since.....

Except that is much more likely to happen to the other team, due to them having five randoms and your team having four.

MMR isn't based around single game. It's based on trends over many games.

I started really low after TDP at 1900 mmr, but a guy i played with was way better at deny and giving me advice and started at 900.... i was just lucky to be paired with team mates that played good i guess.
