How does the block chance for double Vanguard work?
As the title says.

Don't bother, you can spend your gold on more beneficial things.

It stacks with decreasing effectiveness, because each additional vanguard only applies to hits that get through the first one.

For example, if you have two items with a 30% block chance, you do NOT have a 60% chance to block.
Instead the block chance is 0.3 x 100 (percent) = 30% chance to block.
Plus 0.3 x (100-30) = 0.3 x 70 = 21, 30+21 = 51% chance to block.
You can never reach 100%.

You can read a more detailed explanation on the wiki, I think.

Vanguard is alright if you make it into Crimson Guard. I've found that item pretty effective in a team battle. That, with Mek and Pipe makes for a pretty buff team.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I wasn't thinking to build it for myself. I saw the Pheonix player build two Vanguards in one of Purge's youtube videos where he plays Terrorblade, then just last night I saw an Axe player start with two Stout Shields (I don't know if this is a common build for Axe, as a I don't play him), so I was just curious how the items work together. Thanks.
