Getting paired with s*** teammates consistently
I have roughly 540 hours on DotA 2 and I have 3.7k mmr. I keep getting matched with people with 2000+ hours who are clearly below 3k mmr in their plays. Don't give me any of this "You don't know how matchmaking works" bullcrap. Last game I had a clinkz that could not carry for his f***ing life because he kept getting wrecked by a pugna. Two games before, had an earthshaker go 4-13 because he was too scared to initiate into a group of 4 heroes + chaos knight illusions when one ulti could literally wipe out half their health. Also had an ogre magi that match who went for 50 minutes without getting a single item apart from boots. Couple games before that, had a drow ranger go 7-25 and when I asked him "do you normally do this badly?" he replied, "I'm a drow ranger, I'm supposed to feed." So I promptly reported him for intentional feeding.

Why do I keep getting matched with idiots who clearly can't carry, but want to play every single g0ddam carry in the entire world??? If you can't carry, or don't know how to play carry, don't FREAKING PLAY CARRY. It's just that simple. I can understand if you're having a hard time or you got a rough start or if you're going 8-8 or some moderate score like that, but what I cannot understand for the life of me is why people pick certain heroes that they just can't play well and don't learn from their mistakes.

Focus on your own play. If you get good enough, you can win those games regardless of how bad some players are.

Additionally, for each random awful player, there is a greater chance they'll be on the ENEMY team rather then your team.

To be honest, I'd just reccomend playing on a competitive level. You'll keep finding people like that in ranked unless you start playing with premades or you look for a team on a competitive site.

MMR system matches you with players with same skill as you. The system could match you with lower skilled players sometimes but if it is happening every game that means you are the same skill as those other players.

I know this is hard to admit since everyone thinks they are the next dendi but you aren't as good as you think you are.

Not in my case. I have a higher loss rate despite doing above average with all my heroes that I've played. For example, I do moderately well with heroes like Lifestealer or Earthshaker, but I have 1 win and 7 losses with each of them.

Lost 8 out of 10 of my MMR calibration rounds. Got 3.7k mmr. If I'd won a couple of those with slightly better teammates, I might've gotten a higher mmr rating.

You will rise if your mmr is lower than your skill.

You really can't lose more then 200 or so MMR during the calibration matches. 3.7 is pretty good.

You lost 8 out of 10 calibration matches and still had 3.7k mmr wtf, people with 50% winrate end up at 2.5k :l

Winrate is not an indication of anything.

Ranked mmr isn't based completely off the calibration matches.
Below 4k MMR,you can win the game due to the same reason as well(The people you disliked get paired to the enemy team).
The question is,they are in your team.

it's based on nothing (Joke of course)
I won 6/10 cali matches

But only played support. Still with high kill value like 12 to 23(Only on time 23 with Wisp/Io haha)
Still I got 2.6kmmr now i'm a 2.7k trying to get up...It's been 15 games or so that I didn't fell on a game with people that disconnect.
Of course matchmaking is based or your skills. But when you play mostly support you're in da poo poo buwhaha.
Mmr is broken,indeed

Winrate is not an indication of anything.

I meant 50% winrate at the calibration, 5 win 5 losses.

You do realize it takes your unranked MMR, right?

I have to agree it has been extremely bad lately. I went from 3600 MMR to 2900 just from constant pairing with people who throw the game. Whether it's because they didnt get their way with something and they feed, or they are just completely clueless on how two play the game.

I've had the constant recurring theme of someone during the select phase telling everyone what to do, and then when we get in the game, it becomes apparent this person has no idea how to play and is destroying any hopes for having a good game. It has been so bad the past month that I am this close to calling it quits.
