Spectator Item Drops
Claim your piece of the excitement. As teams battle at The International, everyone who owns a Compendium will be eligible to receive exclusive spectator rewards, whether or not they are watching the games live.

Compendium Coins
A new way to earn more items, you earn Compendium Coins by completing Coin Charms, finishing challenges, earning trophies, random drops, and predictions. Increase your Compendium Level to boost your earnings.

You can redeem coins for sets and items (random from the drop list).
Items = 100 coins
Sets = 1,000 coins (also had a small chance to give a coin charm, and a very small chance of an arcana).

Immortal Treasures
3 Immortal Treasures each containing one Immortal item and may also contain a bonus rare or extremely rare item.
The items will not be shown until the treasure stretch goal is reached.

Buying Points
Points can be purchased in 3 sizes:
500 - $2.49
1100 - $4.99
2400 - $9.99

Earning Points
Making predictions - Earn points by making predictions in the Compendium.
Winning matches with the whole team owning the Compendium (30 per match, 150 max).
Completing the 10 hero challenge (can be completed 3 times for a total 450 points).
Recycling items (25 points per 10 items).
Crafting charms (1 charm = 25 points, 10 = 125 points).
Completing 8 charms will give 200 points (25 each)
Consume TI5 immortals or Collector's Cache items (200 points each).
Complete hero specific challenges (25-50 points depending on difficulty).

Compendium Challenges
-You will be given 3 challenged (for example: get a double kill, get ags before 25 mins, heal 3000 points, etc). You have to actually win the game too to complete the challenge. You can discard challenges to be given a new one after 3 days, or complete it to be given a new one after 5 days.
Challenges can give 100-300 coin each depending on their difficulty, and the hero challenge will also give 25 or 50 points. It is random which challenges you get each time. To see how much each challenge is worth you can visit the Compendium Wikipedia page:

Trophies
There are a few trophies available during the TI5.
1. Compendium Challenger - Awarded for completing challenges during the TI5 (1, 5, 15, 25. 40+)
2. Highest team compendium victory - Winning a match with the whole team's compendium lvls (100, 250, 1000, 2000+)
3. Compendium Contender - Your compendium lvl (1, 20, 50, 85, 150, 500, 2000, 10000+)

As the total prize pool reaches each stretch goal, its rewards will be unlocked for all Compendium owners regardless of time of purchase. Some stretch goals also have extra bonuses depending on your Compendium Level

Earn rewards as you increase your Compendium Level. Every 100 points you add to your Compendium increases its level, allowing you to earn additional Immortal items, new emoticons, loading screens, hero taunts, new ability effects, and more.

UPDATES

Immortal Treasure I
We have just updated the game with the first Immortal treasure and cursor pack. All Compendium owners should receive them over the next hour or so. Check the level reward schedule to see how to get multiple Treasures. This treasure includes 7 unique Immortals for Luna, Magnus, Sand King, Spirit Breaker, Pugna, Huskar and a bonus rare Night Stalker item. There is also an extremely rare golden version of the Luna Immortal.

Compendium Rewards Incoming
To celebrate today’s release of the World Chasm Artifact we’ve put together a comic about Enigma and his new bracers.

The prize pool for The International keeps growing and as it does more rewards are unlocked. As part of this update all Compendium owners will receive their own Effigy Block of The International. Increase your Compendium Level to receive a Reforger Pack, allowing you to rebuild an effigy, and gives you the chance to earn a rare Golden Effigy Block of The International.

Today we’re also releasing a handful of other stretch goal rewards including a HUD skin, Loading Screens, Emoticons and the Arcana Vote.

The International Teams
The time has come to announce the teams that will be competing at The International and its Regional Qualifiers. We’ll be revealing this year’s teams progressively over the next couple hours. If you want to follow along as it happens, go to our announcement website.

We’re also excited to introduce a new component to The International, the Open Qualifiers. Now, you too can battle to earn a place in Seattle this summer for a chance to compete against the best teams in the world. FaceIt (Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia) and Perfect World (China) are organizing four Open tournaments (one per region) each crowning a champion that will receive an invite to their associated Regional Qualifier. Register your team by following the links at the bottom of the announcement page.

Compendium Ward Taunt Treasure Unlocked
As we have just passed the 6.5 million dollar stretch goal, with today's update Compendium owners will find an eerie new ward and a treasure containing many new taunts in their backpack.

New for this year, these taunts are able to be used while your hero is moving. The Manual of Fearsome Moves contains taunts available for the following heroes: Magnus, Batrider, Rubick, Clockwerk, Zeus, Luna, Shadow Fiend, Troll Warlord, Tidehunter, Skywrath Mage, Gyrocopter, and Sniper.

Also, with invitations now complete, we've just finished giving out the prediction rewards, so open your Compendium to see how many you got right.
Extra note: There appear to be 2 taunts per treasure.


Dota 2 Update - May 8th 2015
Limited number of pets in a single game to 3. If more than 3 are equipped by players in the game, the highest level pets will survive. Pet levels are determined by your compendium level for Almond, and embedded gem stats for Aurora.

Compendium Progress
The International prize pool is already halfway to the 15 million dollar mark in just 10 days, with 90 days to go. We’re still working on building the second set of Immortal items, but they’re not quite ready yet. We know the most important aspect of these Immortals is their quality level, so we are also planning on spending some extra time polishing them rather than releasing them quickly.

You’ll still see an update to the Compendium this week though. Included in that update you’ll find new challenges, the Item Recycling system, and new ways to earn Compendium Points.


May 14th Update
Compendium Additions:
----
- Added a fourth Challenge slot, which is always a Hero-specific challenge, and rewards completion with both Compendium coins & points.
- Challenges are now available in Captains Mode, Captains Draft, Random Draft, Single Draft, and All Random game modes.
- Ten Hero Challenge added to compendium, also enabled on the above-mentioned modes. This year you can do the Ten Hero challenge 3 times for a total of 450 Compendium Points (4.5 Levels).

- You can now choose to consume any TI5 Compendium Immortal by right clicking on it in the Armory and choosing the Consume option. You'll gain 200 Compendium Points (2 Levels) for each Immortal consumed this way.

- Added back the Item Recycling system. You can now recycle 10 items for a Charm of the Crucible Jewel II and 25 Compendium Points.
- Added 3 Recycle Charm Achievements. Create 1 Charm, Create 10 charms, and Successfully Complete 8 Charms. Worth 25, 125, and 200 Compendium Points respectively (in addition to the base 25 for recycling).
- If you don't own a Compendium, points earned will be saved and applied automatically when a Compendium is activated.

- Added All-Star match voting to Compendium (awards 50 Compendium Points for completion)

Other Changes:

- Updated kill gold chat messages to show the full amount of gold the killer receives (now includes proximity gold)
- Fixed the following abilities from attempting to target Zombies (since they do not affect them): Eclipse, Eye of the Storm and Diabolic Edict
- Fixed Searing Arrows always requiring a small amount of mana to do damage, even if the manacost was already paid for
- Fixed Permanent Split Shot on Rubick
- Fixed a visual bug with Enchantress's weapon
- Fixed 100% proc events (like Wind Run) sometimes failing in rare cases
- Removed the per-game pet limit
- Various tooltip adjustments and fixes


Short Film Contest
Aspiring filmmakers, the time has come. We’re throwing the doors open on the Dota 2 Short Film Contest.

Filmmakers will have until the morning of July 13th, 2015 to submit their entries to the contest. The winning films will be featured as part of The International broadcast, and each winner will earn $20,000. Entries must be less than one minute long, so be sure to make every second count. New Compendium Rewards Spectator Effigies
Immortal Treasure II has been released, bringing exclusive new items to Compendium owners. The Immortal Treasure II contains items for Anti-Mage, Disruptor, Faceless Void, Leshrac, Shadow Fiend, Sven, and Tinker. Increase your Compendium level to earn more treasures and complete the set.

Compendium owners will also receive the Wyvern Hatchling courier. You can give it a new look by increasing your Compendium level, with the Fire Style unlocking at Compendium Level 25, and the Gold Style unlocking at Level 200.

Meanwhile, you may have noticed that we've rolled out a special drop system for The International matches, including the Qualifiers. Major events in a match where we would have previously dropped a normal item will now drop an effigy featuring the triumphant hero, or a random team member in the case of a group accomplishment. The effigies will be built from a random material (including the rare Solid Gold material), and will come ready to be posed using the preset hero and equipped items the player was using at the time.

Live spectators will also have a chance to earn coins, coin charms, and Compendium points toward levels. Additionally, every Compendium owner will have a chance to receive an effigy celebrating the victorious team whenever a live match ends, even if they weren't watching. The higher your Compendium Level, the higher your chance to receive one of these effigies.


The Collector’s Cache
Available for purchase exclusively to Compendium owners, the International 2015 Collector’s Cache costs $1.99 and gives you another chance to contribute to The International prize pool as you claim 11 community-created, Mythical sets. The Cache also has a 1 in 250 chance to contain the Immortal Faceless Rex courier. The Collector’s Cache will only be sold until the end of The International.

Opening a Collector’s Cache also gives you several ways to increase your Compendium level. The first time you open a Cache will earn you 2 levels, when you open 5 Caches you’ll earn 5 levels, and you’ll earn 11 levels when you open 11 Caches. There’s also a chance that a Cache will contain an item that grants 11 Compendium levels. Additionally, each set from the Collector’s Cache can be recycled for two levels.

These sets won’t be sold elsewhere, and won’t be available on the market or for trade, though they can each be gifted once. The Faceless Rex courier, however, is fully tradable and marketable.


Dota 2 International 2015 will have biggest prize pool in esports history
When the world is naught but ash billowing through the cosmos, one fact will stand immortal. Valve is very good at selling internet wizard books.

Thanks to the Compendium—the Dota 2 Electronic Annual—the prize pool for this year's The International stands at a staggering $11,513,349. Only it's not. That's the total right now as I write this. When you go to look, it'll be higher. See, it's already at $11,531,095.

Last year's International ended at a 'mere' $10,930,698. This year, Dota 2 players have bested that amount in only half the time.

There's still plenty of time to raise more, too. Right now, Valve has stretch goals stretching out to the $15 million mark. Now that the $11 million stretch goal has been smashed, Compendium owners will receive a desert terrain item that enables a new-look map.

Some quick money maths: Valve's initial stake in the prize pool was $1.6 million. That means, as of my last check, the community has pitched in $9.93 million of the prize pool total. Except only 25% of the Compendium money goes to the prize pool, meaning the total amount spent on internet wizard books this year is $39,724,380. And growing.

I have been thinking about the Desert Terrain we have coming. I wonder if it is basically the pre-existing desert terrain used in Overthrow. It would have to be a normal Dota map's worth as opposed to the Overthrow map, but...
