Has anyone successfuly used Pugna has a hardcore support?
I keep trying the tranquil boots and ult combo foe healing, but it's not really that successful. My team mates won't hold still long enought for it to work.

What do you recommend?

I almost feel as if I am throwing the game everytime I play support even if I buy wards and courier etc.

Well that was unhelpful and not insightful.

I mean what is "right"

Pugna can be played as carry, and if I recall correctly Navi ran him this way before. However, to succeed as a carry it's not just enough to get particular items for him like other carries, but rather how fast you can get them and then let him snowball. Outside of the pro scene, it's really difficult because it requires that the rest of the team play around you and let you properly rotate lanes as well as stack camps for you (which you can easily farm with your AoE blast). That's not going to happen in the pub scene.

....u said u play support and u feel like u r throwing the game, that because the way u play is wrong,so what support has to do only buy ward and courier ? no harass enemy, protect carry push lane, create space for carry, pugna is nuker in battle and pusher on lane. that why i said play it right....I am wrong?

I do harass, use my ward, and generally do team fights. My early laning experience usually goes excellent. It's after that I start to fail. I mean I'm usually helping my team mate dominate the lane, and usually getting kills.

Really, really helpful. Why don't you tell him what items to build, what order to put points into his abilities, who he's optimal to lane with, and so on? Or you revel in being a smarta** when in fact you probably know nothing about the hero to give advice but somehow feel the need to inject yourself needlessly into the discussion.

Well I start off with a ring of protection(I use the tranquil boots support idea, side shop etc) and some tangos. I give one ward to my mid hero, and buy courier if my other team mates are all carries or don't buy it.

I usually aim for a ghost scepter. I then precede to scepter

In the mean time I try and buy wards, but I do find myself suffering from low gold.

The first two items I like to get on Pugna, and I would probably do the same for a carry Pugna, are Tranquils and Soul Ring (along with the usual tangos, salves, and clarities). For carry you are going to be farming a lot on the neutral creeps, so you will constantly need mana for your blast. Soul Ring gives you burst mana and you can restore health easier with the regen from tranquils. You can farm much earlier this way than waiting the 1000 gold to get arcane boots. Additionally, Soul Ring can later build into Bloodstone, which is an excellent item in its own right, but on Pugna, that would be a late game item. For carry, I would also consider Dagon and Veil. Those two synergize extremely well with decrepify, and you get some added armour and hp regen from Veil, not to mention nice stat boosts to your INT with both those items. Don't worry too much about getting INT items excessively since Pugna has the fastest INT gain in the entire game, so you'll be able to regen mana no problems. At this point, I would go AC to give you very nice armour as well as to increase your right-click speed a bit. The attack speed increase isn't so much for right-clicking in team fights, since your damage is going to be largely magic based, but rather it helps with quick lane farming. If you want right-click damage output, then go Shiva's instead of AC, but it will take you longer to get items, whereas AC you can get individual pieces more quickly and constantly improve the hero. At this point I would consider either going Bloodstone or Aghs. The thing with Pugna is since you are relying on magic damage you can't let the game drag on too long because late game Pipe and BKB will essentially shut Pugna down.

Support Pugna?
Meh..

Maybe.
Thing is most supports are classified as supports due to their skills, not their potential for the role.

Pugna's skills are mainly for pushing, nuking and teamfights.

There isn't anything you could really use Pugna for in the support role.
His W is the only thing that comes close to a support skill. But he can do more damage than good with it.

tranquil or arcane boot is good idea for pugna, you can go for urn if you want. It will give you some extra hp and combo with Decrepify to heal you more faster. you might need forcestaff for survival, and if enemy has squishy hero like riki or lina you can even go dagon. Late game item you can decide base on your income. I will type 4 skill, blast, decrepify, ward and drain, in number. I usually up like this 1,3,2,1,3,4,1,3,2,1 and so on. This build is to chip away enemy tower quickly and disable enemy in battle, I only up decrepify 1 time because effect is the same only duration is difference. Life drain is useful with sceptre, it majorly to keep you alive and really effective against pa or some hero with high evasion. eul scepter is also good idea, if u have enough money and enemy has hero like clinkz who go for orchid, you will really need eul or bkb. Hope this help
