dun grind 1hero
just pick best hero based on enemy and allied draft
The best MMR grinding hero is probably the hero that you know how to play the best. Should know 3 heroes since sometimes, only one is not the best pick for some games.

Meepo and Earth Spirit. Spam for win.
actually some hero's are better then others in solo games and they are almost all... SUPPORTS. not those panzy typical ones like CM or Lion, i mean the ones that keep people alive like winter, omni, tide, etc

Meepo is a good hero to spam, but you need to make sure your team lets you farm

phantom assassin

Meepo's giving me some success. But you need to know his counters, as there are a few. Also, you need to understand your use in the game, and learn to build accordingly. If you arent able to secure a few kills early on, you're probably going to have a tough time playing him as a carry (especially if the enemy is smart enough to counter you with their items). So if you aren't able to get the kills, you can always get BoT, and then play rat dota. I used to play support most games, but if you're playing solo mmr you can't depend on your team to be decent. you're going to have to carry yourself, at least until your mmr is high enough

you should have a list of 10 or so you play a lot that you consider to be counters to everything.
a well rounded team that you will be able to pick a favorite every game and be a hard counter to whatever you picked it for, and have good theoretical synergy with your team, though that is secondary. Everything should be a solution for something:
Example list:
They are Tanky - Necro or maybe Timbersaw
They are Ganky - Undying or maybe Silencer
They are Invisible - Slardar or Bounty
They are Nukey - Treant Protector, Centaur
They are Pushey - Clockwork, Dark Seer
Not my personal list but it could work. Know everything about your 10, get your last hit training up to 80+ hits especially for supports, you will have less chances to practice as a support and you need to be good. Know all the counters to your heroes, and know which heroes they absolutely love to kill. Never pick first unless you have to, only look at your 10 favorite practiced heroes when doing ranked solo. You should probably have more ranged heroes than I have in this example, but I didn't take much time and these are probably not the best suited, just some examples of the way you can organize your favorites mentally to get consistent outcomes in solo ranked. You don't have to play the current meta, but you should know it because it affects most games.

always. ALWAYS pick nyx assasin. say mid or feed. farm brown boots, bottle, and dagon. if you can pull off killing the enemy mid without bottle, skip it. then gank like there's no tomorrow. i go 20/4 frequently as nyx, and the deaths are from getting aghs and burrowing next to their fountain and getting a casual double kill while they end my godlike streak.
I would rather not give you ideas for "Inflate your MMR heroes" as eventually you will hit somebody that knows how to counter you, my advice is learn heroes from multiple roles so that you are more flexible, and will raise or sustain mmr easier even if you do inflate your mmr.

why be a ♥♥♥♥
try roaming crystal mooden

opposing ppl cannot handle the fact that there is one support on your team thats not on lane.
gank mid everytime if its gankable
pop a ward in their woods and gank their jungler
gank their offlane if its pushed in
have a TP for counterganks, an eezy tower dive can turn into a nightmare if theres suddenly a CM who immobilizes you under tower for 3 seconds
etc.
your ulti is a gamechanger too.

and your ana regen will make life easier for your dumbass teammates too.
Depends on which MMR.
1-2500? Riki or any support easy to teamplay with.
After that? Metagame heroes and heroes you are good at.
team play = ez win / no team play = ez loss
