Funny, just today I was pondering about how balanced an item that reduced your highest cd by about 25% at the cost of increased casting mana would be. Really weird that IF chose to make this a passive though.

I think that's going a little overboard, OP. This item doesn't boost damage directly, and most of the people who are gonna benefit from it are supports who tended to fall off late-game anyway. We'll have to see how all this shakes out- it's certainly going to be an interesting few weeks, but I wouldn't say that DotA is a League-clone just yet.

These reactions are hilarious. Are people THAT scared of the meta changing?

Skywrath is a Hard Carry? Lol (pun intended). He is so squishy he should at least be healed for casting his nukes.

I think 5,900 gold is just a little bit out of a support's reach.
This is gonna be for all the int mid heroes who are supposed to drop after mid game. Obviously Vúlva wants them to be strong all-round...

not just the meta, it's the game that's really changing. It not gonna be the same game i fell in love with. This game is becoming to much for casuals. I can't really blame Valve. They are a company after all. And making money is their number one priority.

They killed the early-game push strategies, so clearly they are sticking in stuff to help out heroes who can't right-click still be useful later on. If anything, I see this as blurring the line between supports and carries. You could always "support" with a carry, at least in low-tier pubs, but it was harder to go the other way. This makes it more viable if you can find the farm as non-traditional carry hero.

This is like the steam mods all over again.

I understand your fear, actually. The game is definitely changing, but is it really catering towards casuals? I think the advent of this new item will just give us a shift away from the traditional agi-carries.

well its kinda unfair that a spellcaster cannot, ever win a game solo, so if u have a completely worthless team and ur a puck with a 15 0 20 score and then am comes out of jungle then where tf is the balance?
Alchemilla Oct 2, 2017 @ 1:21pm
what? well I do admit it is a change, but DoTA always had casters/supports fall off late game. This was a good way to get them back into it after mid game.

Another indication of this was with them adding +%magical damage amp per x int point a hero has.

That's how much casters needed to be buffed, at least now they matter late game as well as early.

Besides these casters are countered by BKB.. YES THERE IS A LITERAL ITEM THAT MAKES THEM DEAL 0 DAMAGE TO YOU FOR at least 4s. Also why BKB has a charge based duration.

the longer you used bkb the less it's duration will be the next time etcc it's for balance. Still in that 4s u can easily kill any spell caster if you're a carry(which I assume you are since you have a bkb)

technically as of now int directly increases magic damage by a small ammount.. so technically it is directly adding damage
