i'm just providing a workaround for those that aren't used to WASD/edge panning....
so i can look across map, and press "r" or "e" twice and now camera centered back over my hero.
generally it is not hard having mouse hit edge of camera, just set your settings so that you use less strain while retaining accuracy. i use deceleration to have smoother movements of the camera. with some practice it's really easy to have camera exactly where you want it with great precision, with little to no strain at all.
