Do not start any dota download. None.
Copy your dota2beta folder to same place as all other guides.
Open steam application.
In windows/whatever go into your dota2beta folder, double click dota2.exe. You should see the valve video dude. What should happen next is steam should override the game and say "checking existing files" or something to this extent.
It should then begin a 7gb download anyway. While this is going (downloading, do not pause/whatever) go to the dota 2 game library page. Find the tick boxes that say DOTA2 premium DLC and DOTA 2 Reborn. Most likely the dlc will be ticked installed but the REBORN option will be greyed unticked.
Tick Reborn then untick it. You *should* see the download go from 0% to 99% with only seconds to go.
I tried all the other options which usually work for me with other games, I've also used the backup system and think it's bloody stupid. Most effort to get a game to go I've had to do.
Hope it helps!
I moved it to another PC with dota2. I removed local content via steam. I click dota2 to install again. it had 6 gb still downloading. but i unclicked the dload premium content and whoosh it left 200 mb only! :D
1. copy dota beta
2. delete all contents inside folder "downloading"
3. open steam, start download dota 2
4. pause , press the x
5. continue downloading
Then it wants to download 8gb, with a freaking slow speed. From 0%.
Please help me thanks
NICE BRUH JUST 1% REMAINING
it works!! thx m8
First of delete or clear the current dota 2 folder from steamapp which should delete the 570 folder, and after that create a new folder as "Common" under steamapp folder and then paste the dota2beta inside the common folder now launch the game in steam and it should validate the game.
worked like a charm. thank you!
Thank You!
