Command so you just need to press 1 button to select unit AND center camera?
anybody knows this? currently pressing 1 time the unit button just selects it, so you need to press the button another time to center the camera on that unit

I want this as well. DotA feels really sluggish when double tapping to centre the camera.
Not like any other RTS i've played.

Its the exact same as any RTS. Even starcraft requires you to press the hotkey for the group twice....

"Feels sluggish".
As in, it slowly drifts your camera towards the unit, and then backs up a bit because it over stepped the mark. It's like there's a drunk in control of the camera.
Every other RTS snaps you to what you've selected.

Need to set it in your Autoexec.cfg & unbind your hero select key in the game settings. I use:

// single click hero focus
alias "myhero_1" "+dota_camera_follow; +dota_camera_follow"
bind "F1" "myhero_1"

ok I pasted that command on my autoexec file, but how do you unbind the hero select key and control groups? I tried deleting the binds value from the config.cfg but it's like Dota2 restore the default by itself each time I run Dota2

Yeah, double clicking the hero portrait has always worked fine for me. I really don't see why having to click twice is such a big deal.

In game, go to settings and just left-click then right-click on the setting, this will clear it.
