Low FPS on game load?
In the past few weeks when I load into a game my fps goes down to 30 for up to 3-4 minutes. Anyone have this issue? I have v sync on so it's probably dropping the fps to 30 because the fps goes below 60 but this never used to happen. And once it goes back up to 60 after the first few minutes it never drops. This happen to anyone else?

yes i it happanes to every one game loads in really bady so it hangs for some time
if your game is working properly and do not got freez or intermittent cuts in the visual. then ignore FPS, but if your game is working bad and you got visual problems then is your overheating GPU, try to see the temperatures.

For a lot of videogames the maximun FPS is 65, other games could show to you over 500 FPS but is a lie, is just the software informer, cause if you start to see semething over the 100 FPS I can bet you that you're going to feel dizzy and even nauseated.

and if you could barely have any symptoms of epilepsy you go to become it worsen.

This depend on the monitor refresh rates, any Wide Screen monitor do not goes beyond from 60 Mhz to 75 Mhz as much, so that affect the display of the FPS counter, test it on a CRT monitor and you can take the Refresh Rate to 180 Mhz and get more than 400 FPS with the lower textures configurations, but any way you go to feel the above description cause human eye cant see anything above the 75 FPS.

Is like try to see what have a person on the hand when crossing your vision point of view on a ferrari at 340 Kms per hour, is imposible.

so dont feel bad about FPS report on any modern Videogame if this is playable.

PS: could be related to Micro, Ram, Free Hard Drive Space, Applications on backwards, Window Updates, Firewall, Anti Virus, etc etc

No kid . .60 Mhz Cant allow you to force a display of higher FPS noob, because the Scan Lines. the 120 FPS or 500 FPs is just a fake number and is not related to Real FPS, about that i write, if the display is 60 FPs then is a good report, beyond 75 or 80 as much is fake, is just a matt fake number. Is Like Farenheit and Celsius, the developer of this softwares use other amount of numbers because copyrights. DOTA 2 FPS display, show the real ones.

quickly move your hand in front of your eyes and tell me what you see . .

See an Optic Specialist, on this case FPS on a computer are not related to FPs from your Eyes, is about at wich speed your monitor is Sweeping lines, if you force it too much you get Optical Problems.

you continue watching the game in the same way but imperceptibly your eyes are seeing a Higher Scan Line process that your brain cant process, imperceptibly you damage your eyes

seems you cant read i said the Mhz locks you fps meaning if you have 160fps are 120 Mhz screen will only dispaly at 120spf that fact and if you say its not i dont care as anyone reading can google it

Yes . .if your monitor reach 180 MHZ and you Force the FPS on any videogame to Such Rates, yes . .you feel bad

And no . . one thousand FPs? .. you are Squizo. you cant see properly your own hand being shaked in front of your Eyes . .you are being molest and i go to insult you . .

Kid. . You are an Idiot.

i Re Edit the Post because i wont extend it too much . .

Not really the case, if you had console emulator and disable frame limiter, you would get beyond that fps and your games would rander faster, anyway fps between 30~60 should be the fps caps...

for that i express that . .cause you can use software to broke the FPS limiter and take it beyond of the regulated amount, the only limitation is the Mhz on the monitor because Scan Lines, if is 60 Mhz and you push it to 200 FPS or more with any software, you go to have Flickering and other Display problems.

Basically this issue never happened before and as far as I know it hasn't happened in any other game. The weird part is that the 30 fps last a couple of minutes consistently, then jumps to 60. I have a 120hz monitor and a gtx 780. Really shouldn't be a problem unless my video card is going bad.
Im experience same now.Fps dropped to 2-5fps whole game..I used to get 50-60fps untill yesterday...

Fps drop happenning to many others..Hope valve fix this Asap.

then bout are having problems with the GPU load, maybe because high temperatures, or related to some load from the Micro Processor, i assume that bout have more than 4 Gs on your PC, are using third party FPS monitors or any related ??

That could affect teh GPU too, the majority of the modern GPU are working with their own monitors, try to use that ones. cause any related software is overloading your GPU from other Calcs than just the videogame inself.

Go to Toms Hardware or Toxic PC or Guru3d to find some answers about your GPU, but any way from 30 to 104 FPs on last GPU models are real, numbers about 120 or more are just fake matts calcs about the percentage of info displayed or losed. if not do your search and try to use some Experimental FPS demostrator so you see how dizzy you get when you take a monitor, specialy the CRT ones at 180 Mhz of Scan lines, and see what amazing Drug you get . .until your brain get such Pain that you realize that is not joke. or if you are epileptic.

i went with my partners to the Medicine university to see that Dangerous Chapter from Pokemon, the one that ruin a lot of Kids in Japan, and 3 from 400 persons get serious problems, we like see it on LSD from time to time and then in the night we go play soccer on open terrain near to the river, hahahaah is awesome !! . .

FPS Drop only happens when in dota but not with other games..

I know 60hz monitor gives 60fps and 120hz gives 120fps only no matter what it shows in game or with fps showing softwares like 100fps 150fps or so...

Great. i hope all get their problems fixed, but allways think on that the majority of the New Videogames already have their FPS fixed to 30 or 60 by Default without your intervention, even with the Vsync disabled or enabled, and the higher numbers of FPS on any video game are just FAKE, are related to a multiply of 4 by the way on how is the GPU working with the newest parallel processing, for that this Third Party software or Graph Matt reports ,from the game inself, are giving high numbers. So if you have a game reporting 120 FPS is working from 25 to 35 real FPS, obviously you can use Third party software to display higher numbers, even fakering those numbers. But the majority of the Videogames are configured to display the Real ones, 30 to 60, above this numbers you go to have pain in your eyes, eyestrain, migraine, dizzines and other related problems, do not play with this, you dont need more than 30 FPS, the game run smoothly.

" This is forced by laws so the companies do not damage your eyes and do not receive demands for it. "

People searching for higher FPS, altering the loked refresh rate to their monitors and frames per second from their GPU, are just falling on Vanity and producing on themselves a future big damage in to their eyes.

Any Way . .

If You Was Shaking Your Hand In The Air !!

BUMP THIS !!

just for fun
