How to counter Zeus ulti in the event?

I cant figure out how to counter this combo. When he gets agha/refresher the damage scales up to 1400+ damage. If you manage to build a pipe it reduces to around 900+ dmg which is still a lot. Focusing its not an option because he doesn´t even need to be in the teamfight, he could just be in his fountain drinking some daikiri while pressing R.
Also shutting him off at the start of the game is not viable either because there is no laning stage in this event and he won´t be alone if he is smart.

Pick him first.
The "event" is poorly thought out and pretty much just a grab for cash. Given some heroes are clearly better, Valve should have allowed each hero to be picked once on each team.

The thing I've noticed is, is that just having one or two of the 5-7ish core year beast heroes in your draft wont win you the game. So, If the other team gets zeus, make sure you pick the other heroes first, such as Undying, Warlock, Sniper, Troll, Juggernaut, etc.

Alternatively, get high magic res heroes such as Rubick or Huskar. Or just remove zeus from fights completely with silencer.

I'd like to add WW to that list. Her ult (especially with a lvl 3 speed beast) can turn a game around.

Yea, she's tied up in the etc. Surprisingly, I think I've only seen her once in the whole event.

You can try picking silencer instead but I dont think its worth it much.
The event is poorly balanced, I would suggest you pick fast and go with premade or otherwise just dont play it unless you have 50$ extra cash to spend on points.

Zeus isn't too too hard to counter. You just need magic resistance.

a hood cheap item makes him useless dont know why noone has said it yet as you should allways buy it vs zues makes him do 100 damage with his ult making him useless and his non ult spells even more useless

Silencer is amazing. As long as you use your abilities at the right time, most of the common picks are useless. He also has a great amount of harass to match undying. Not to mention, if your team gets kills, you steal their intelligence and reduce mana pools, making them less effective.

Well, I kinda said it with my post about magic resistance, but I meant both heroes with high magic res AND the hood. I.E. Zeus is useless vs a pudge. Pudge isn't too bad in YB either.

if it was not about the event i would say play spectre iv made many zs leave because his two ults do 20 damage :] with a hood she makes 50% of the int heros useless

Nope. He can remove the most dangerous hero or the year beast itself and stun it for 2 seconds, plenty of time for the player to be dispatched. 5 vs 4 is better than 5 vs 5 in teamfighting, no?
Did I mention magic resistance, tankiness, and rot?
