How to Trim down the Size of Dota 2??
Yo guys, When dota was first installed it was only like 5gigs or something now it's almost close to 30gigs... Is there a way to possibly chop down the file size of Dota2 because it is eating up a lot of space in my hard drive. Even skyrim is just 8gig... Now dota is eating near 30 gigs man! 30 gigs! So if someone has a way to decrease file size then please tell me.

Thanks in advanced.

My Dota 2 folder is 17.1 GB and my Skyrim folder is 18.9 GB, clearly you modded the wrong game Kappa

As far as I know, there is no way to decrease the size of the Dota 2 folder unless you uninstall.
If you have the workshop tools installed, you can uncheck those in the DLC tab in the Dota 2 game properties in your Library. However if you do that, you won't be able to play custom games.

Mines 24.5 gigs. Do you have Workshop Tools installed for custom maps etc? That adds a lot of it.

My actual dota folder (..steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota) is about 12 gig but also have another folder (..steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota_ugc) that is slightly bigger. I 'think' the dota_ugc has to do with Workshop Tools, customization & version control. Uninstalling Workshop tools ,may' remove the excess but you will also lose access to custom content.

30GB? Good lord, mine's 11.7GB.

Skyrim one is like 70GB though.

You will maybe save a few gig by removing some of the maps, but you probably won't get much, maybe 4 or 5 gig. My install is with just Workshop Tools installed, I actually haven't even got around to getting any custom content!

All good bruh bruh, Thanks.... Just didn't want dota to reach like 80 gigs by december coz that would be wierd and messed up.

My dude, I never said I was lacking Memory. Just don't like dota- a simple-ish looking game to reach like 80 gigs in the future. Even GTA is just 50gigs..

If you guys want to keep playing custom games but don't have the space. Just go into the Dota folder c:/progam(86)/steam/steamapps/common/Dota . There is a 13 gig file and a 16 gig file. Keep the 16 toss the 13 and you're good to go. Dota is now ~16 gigs.
