What roles do people not like to play the most?
Hello, after writing on this fourm once before I have grown to play all the roles in the game sub-par for my level (even finding hard carries to not be as bad as I used to once I learned this game also had quick cast, and I can still auto cast which relieved me). However I looked around and saw the opposite of what I assumed, that being people always made me carry. This confused me as I assumed the community was always looking for more support players, and yet I could only get support in one game as abadon (who is really fun to play). With this in mind I wanted to ask what lane role in particular do people tend to hate, I love helping people and doing the things that are less interesting/ fun to them. If it is situational tell me the ones I should probably focus on, so I can most likely do what I want to do for this community.
p.s. what do I do about people with confusing set ups on my team when they don't tell me. I have had game after game of people not telling me they are carries or supports as people that do the opposite role, and it always goes bad because I pick a hard carry in advance only to be put in offlane. (examples include a bounty hunter support with omni knight mid [the omni carried so he had nothing to do with it] and a lina carry that went 0/11 while I had to huskar solo lane)

I actually like playing a support...

so that I have an excuse to die.
I hate playing hard carries.
Why? Because I suck at them.

Let me tell you some things:
1. Huskar is viewed as one of the best solo offlaners
2. Lina is only played as a support at high level matches. She is usually played as a carry.
3. Bounty hunter can support quite well.
4. What hard carry did you play as at offlane?

I really don't like supporting with BH, he's best played as an offlaner.

Ok.
Hard carry. If I pick one in a pub, the team will most likely be support-starved, and I don't pick them in a stack either because there are better farmers among my friends.
The two positions I dislike are solo mid and hard-carry. Solo mid has a lot of responsibilities. He is expected to outlane oponent, take control of runes and gank as soon as he has his ultimate up. I kinda get lost and miss at least one responsibility which creates disadvantage for my team. With carries my problem is that I'm not efficient in farming enough and sometimes I do bad assesment of situation and jump on a hero I'm not going to solo kill.

My favourite role is support followed by offlaner. Jungler is ok, but I don't like playing mid or going carry (Jugg and LC are ok though since they can also help the team in some way).
I hear ya! FIST BUMP! :D
I just prefer a hero that doesnt just sits around and farm and waits till 40 minute time to start making kills. Dota is about fun and fun is achieved by dynamic play more ganks more fails to laugh to etc.

Yeah people generally don't want to play supports because they want the glory of getting all the kills. It's generally fine by me, I usually prefer to play offlane, 3 or 4 role.

I definitely see some of that in games. I like getting assists just as much as kills, personally; I think finishing a game as a support with 2-1-24 stats is extremely satisfying. I also think it's just as fun dewarding, dusting invisible enemies, or landing stuns on people so the carries can kill them.
only support i play is shaman because if my team does bad i can get refresher and boots of travile and win but i had a fun game today i had scyth of vs and anti mage blinked on me alone in jungle i was warding and i turned him into a pig for 8s put wards down buffed ones and shackled him him and his team left before he even died
