My internet keeps getting disconnected only when I play dota

Whenever I play dota, my internet just disconnects. It gets a yellow '!' on my wifi-signal icon. Don't confuse this with the icon when there is no network detetced, that is a different problem.
This only happens when I play dota and in the middle of the game I get disconnected. I can do anything else just fine.
I searched for the solution in several other places but none seemed to work so I just decided I had no choice but to come to this forum.

It used to work just fine. Other games also used to worked just fine. My download and upload speed is fast enough to download and upload a movie in 10 or 15 minutes.

Its not random anymore, it happens consistently. Can you offer me any help :/

Its 2017 now, and its my turn to have this problem.. I've tried reinstalling Dota, Steam, my network adapter, nothing fixes this.

The same problem has arisen for me too.Right now i have been banned for 20hrs from dota cause i always dc from game
My internet speed is 2 mbps which is enough to run dota
I play on Windows 8.1 and my graphixs card is of nvidia
So i dont see the reason why my internet connection keeps getting discconnected for 1 min and its rebboots again in one min
the internet works fine for other online games and on web
So plz help me if anyone on the community knows the solution to this problem

Hi, I had a similar problem that told me I had a " Limited Connection " and/or " IP conflict " and this triangle appeared. It can mean many thing, I'll tell you know I don't know so much about computers, but here are 2 causes of the problem I found and a possible solution.

Causes:

1.- There is more than one device consuming a lot of your internet, with downloads, streaming, or games. Depending on the wifi device it may cause it to shut down the connection.

2.- For some reason, because there are many devices or something else, tehre is a IP conflict, in wich case this worked for me:

When the yellow triangle appears and there is the problem, open the console command: (windows key + F) and write cmd (it will open it when you press enter). Then write the next things:

ipconfig /release (press then enter, wait until it releases connection)

ipconfig /all (analizes configuration).

ipconfig /flushdns (cleans DNS cache)

ipconfig /renew (pretty self explanatory, it resets it).


I am not an expert as I said, and as far as I know this is the equivalent in a connection to " turn off and on again ", but hey... it may work.

well while your causes seem legit i have already checked on them
there seems to be a kind of a reboot function on windows called 'clear dns cache'
i dont know if it works ,try to google it
if possible i will give my feedback after reeboting and playing a game of dota
