MIDAS calculation

Hello,

So midas gives you 190 gold and bonus XP we know that.

With words.
When your midas is done it gives you bonus gold after 20 min.
You need 2050 gold to build it and you need to use it 12 times tto get the first bonus gold.

Let's say you can build midas within 8-10 (or more) min and you need more 20 min to get the first bonus gold = ~28-30 min.

With numbers
2050 gold / 190 gold = 10,7 times = 11 times + 1 time = 12 times = 2280 gold
12 times * 100 sec cooldown = 1200 / 60 sec = 20 min exactly.
8-10 min to build midas = 28 - 30 min (or more) to get your first bonus gold.

Do you think you really need midas?

lol , when you have buy midas, you didnt care about the "bonus gold" it give , because you buy others things with gold, midas is good for attack speed and gold occasionnaly. people not buy midas only for make gold.( at least, not me)

It's either for 2.5x experience or 190 gold on creeps that would never give more than 50 gold.

you know, you still have other ways of getting gold, like through farming.

you don't buy Midas to replace your time farming, but to accelerate it, and also go for late game...

I know but sometimes when I ask my teammates "why you need midas?".
They say "GOLD noob" or "learn to play" etc. But they can't guve me a proper answer :)

Midas is extremely situational.I just dont like this item for the same reasons you listed.It takes 20 minutes+ to pay for itself.People think midas is possible in every game.A terrible mistake.

buy midas on medusa, she is useless till 40 min mark either way, as she needs 3 big items to be useful at the very least

the 2.5x exp is the reason, like invoker who needs level so badly rather than the gold

Getting a midus is for getting more gold and xp for somthing that would be less if you didnt use it. You have to add in how much gold and xp you get from creeps when you do use in on them and when you don't. otherwise your data is off and incomplete.

A solid point, often when I'm playing Nature's Prophet in the late game, that gold I get from selling the midas is just enough to ensure a buyback after building my last item.

Not true because you get the standard gold from creeps without midas.
With midas you get the 190 gold only from the consumed creeps. You can't get the regular gold + the 190 gold. You have 2600+ hours in dota 2 so you should know that. :)

People usually go for Midas if they want to take the game to late game. Midas accelerate your GPM and XPM, which can help your carry to farm and level ahead of the opposing team (granted that he doesn't die that often or enemy snowballing).

So yes, Midas is needed in some games.

yeah well any player worth his salt can calculate if midas is worth or not.

pretty situational item, depends on a hell lot of factors. For example, the second poster, macadamstreet is prolly a bad misas user.

People buy it for Experience gain. One of the reasons its very good on Doom.
