Report a translation problem
If it is, open up dota and go to your settings, make sure master volume, game volume, etc are turned up. Make sure your "default audio" device within the dota settings is set to the appropriate output.
If everything checks out, but the game is still not giving you sound, verify, then reinstall if necessary.
The volume was working in other apps and the volume was set to 100% in Dota.
I went to the in-game settings, clicked the AUDIO tab.
There are VOLUME, AUDIO and VOICE sections in the Audio tab.
In the Audio section I clicked Sound Device (the first parameter/option) and changed it.
And that was it; I could then go back or stay in the one I had selected; the sound was working fine now.
lol 5 years later.. hahaha when i was excited about dota2
