In seasons past, the beast has come to herald in the year, but this time something has gone wrong. What was one is now two--strange twins at war with themselves, as if time's nature itself has fractured. Some see it as a sign of a worsening schism, while others see an opportunity to harness the Year Beast to fight the ultimate battle.

THE YEAR BEASTS INVADE

WHAT IS THE YEAR BEAST BRAWL?
The Year Beast Brawl is like a normal match of All-Pick Dota, except that each team now has a powerful helper: their very own Year Beast. Every 5 minutes during the battle the Year Beasts will appear, charging down the lanes toward the opposing team. Use your Ability Points to manipulate and modify your Year Beast, helping it destroy the enemy's ancient. Ability Points are gained in numerous ways throughout the New Bloom Festival.

HOW TO JOIN THE YEAR BEAST BRAWL
The Year Beast Brawl is only available to join during 10-minute periods, which will occur randomly a few times each day. A countdown timer will appear an hour before the start of each Brawl, allowing you time to assemble your friends and prepare. Once the Brawl becomes active, all players who choose to join a match during those 10 minutes will enter a Brawl. Rankings are not affected by Year Beast Brawls.

The first Year Beast Brawl will occur tomorrow. nudge nudge wink wink

STRENGTHENING YOUR YEAR BEAST
Your Ability Points can be used to enhance your Year Beast in one of three categories: their ability to support, their effectiveness in combat, or their speed. At the 10 and 20 minute marks, stronger versions of these bonuses can be obtained, granting Resurrection Aura, Greater Hex, Stampede, and more. The points in your Ability Points Pool refresh back to full at the beginning of each Year Beast Brawl.

COMMANDING YOUR YEAR BEAST
Ability Points can also be used to issue commands to your Year Beast, such as Teleporting it to defend or push a lane, enchanting it with Double Damage, or causing it to use a powerful spell such as Thunder God's Wrath. Once commanded, the beast will act on its own, so there is no need to manage its every move.

Remember to use your Ability Points—they are replenished after each Brawl.

Freeze an enemy in place and strike those around them with a curse that causes them to attack their frozen ally.

Reworked Item Drops and Gifting

Make your claim on the spoils of war! Several changes have come to the Item drop system. The first change is increasing the drop rate for the existing ultra-rare drop system, which includes Full Sets, Bundles, Treasures, and more. Alongside that drop system, we are adding a new drop system that happens significantly more frequently for single items. Items that drop are not marketable, but can each be gifted one time to a friend.

Additionally, sets from Treasures will now also be giftable in the same way during their initial market/trade restricted date, so if you want to give a friend an item for his favorite hero, you will be able to use the updated gifting system.

Item Recycling

It's time for a bit of spring cleaning. Item Recycling is now available to reforge your unwanted items into new opportunities. To recycle an item, open your Armory and select "Item Recycling". Then click and drag the items you'd like to recycle.

Once you have selected 10 items to recycle, select "Submit" to melt your items down and create a Charm of the Crucible Jewel. Equip this Charm in your Action Item slot, and then use it before the horn of battle to predict your victory.

Correctly predict 3 victories, and you will be rewarded with a Treasure of the Crucible Jewel, which will contain one of several dozen possible hero item sets, and an ultra-rare chance of finding an Arcana item!

Make 2 incorrect predictions and you will receive a handful of Charm Fragments to give you a head start the next time you wish to recycle your items. Prizes earned through the Charm of the Crucible Jewel cannot be traded.
