Dota 2
Windows 7 no longer supported??? Valve, please make an official statement.
Can Valve answer this question? I see official system requirements for Dota 2 are Windows 7 or newer. BUT it no longer works on this OS. BECAUSE Dota 2 requires new steam version which cannot be installed on Windows 7.

Any official answer from VALVE???

relax and get win 10
Lmao Win 7 is outdated, upgrade your OS or switch to Linux if you're against Windows 10 or 11.
Yes, sure. Update the OS because of dota... I would rather delete dota instead and continue using Win7. I'm fine with it. My pc is very old and I don't see the point to upgrade the OS.

"don't see the point to upgrade"
Proceeds to complain that his medieval os isn't supported anymore. Allright bro.
You are probably one of those that dc every minute so don't let the door hit you mate.

Medieval I wouldn't really say. Support wasn't dropped that long ago and if we're honest, Windows 7 is superior to Win 10 and twice to Win 11.

I already dread the end of support for Win 10. They downgrade the OS, then add a bunch of spyware and junkware on top and then say "but it's free, don't you want free things?" while stealth updating your PC.

Microsoft was never an angelic company, but since the 2010's they have been getting absolutely terrible. It's weird when you miss the days where Bill Gates steered the ship, but it's true. Under his reign the company wasn't in enshittification mode yet.

In the end, that's how these things go in the digital age. They force us to downgrade ever more until we're left with a shell of what once was.

Windows 7 was released in 2009 and they supported it 11 years. It was a good os, very good, but it is not secure in today's world because they won't patch it, and it also doesn't support modern hardware.
Ofc if it were up to us, we would be still using windows XP, but it's the manufacturer that decides not us, or as someone said, you can move to linux which is open source.
Windows 11 24H2 is the best to support Dota II.

You must have a million viruses. This is what happens when you connect an EOL OS to the IPv4 internet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uSVVCmOH5w

win7 was best OS. It still had bloatware but compared to win11 is like comparing apples to oranges.

IIRC, the Microsoft already ended the support for Windows 7. If you are to aim for an Operating System (OS) which does not has continuous supply, there will be risky to face with compatibility issues when new releases by other parties continue to be released.

Issue with hardwares? Later complain? Blame the Game Developers when issue happened? Why do we need a discussion for OS that has no support by its developer anymore?
