Dota 2
Is it worth starting to play in 2025?
Or rather lol? I want to try to start playing some MOBA

You have no hopes in this game unless have like 10-20 friends and play all day long in parties but losing constantly will make you sick and thats the main reason most of players refuse to continue and learn the game, nobody likes losing. Too complicated game to learn as an adult and bad matchmaking system.

if you like shooter games you can check out deadlock, its beta private invite-only (it's pretty easy to get invited) but is fun.
as for if it's worth? dota is always worth checking out, best hero-based competitive game ever made, hands down.

I have 200 hours in Deadlock, I love it but Im afraid if game will be popular
It's never too late, but you will have to make peace with the fact that MOBA communities are infamously inherently toxic and that you will have to deal with people get mad for no reason on a regular basis. By which I mean: learning to ignire and/or muting them and then continuing playing as if nothing happened. If you can't do that - you WILL have a bad time, eventually.

lol...

It's not like that. I win half the time playing with randoms on unranked.
if you have rts experience you'll be able to pick up DOTA, lot of little things cross over. Years of AOE2 helped a lot.
Well...You need around 5-6 years to unlock all heroes for BE in LoL while in Dota 2 all champs are free...XD

This. On toxcity and smurfs I cannot really comment cuz I have not played league, but you should be prepared that you be flamed and griefed a lot. I recommend trying as many heroes as possible during your first tens of hours into the game and picking out just a few of them that you really enjoy, so it would be easier to master them. If you do get flamed and a lot, filter out the chat from settings.

do you have a strong mind
that no one can harm you via toxic words?
if so
you are fine
just give you a little bit of time to learn
like 100 hours
watch pro replays to learn a specific heroes
watch yt tutorial learn how to be good
and practices it , processes it until those knowledge became you're reflexion.
ive played both. and dota turbo is the best mode between all the games.

yahabibi
just play it bru. the only thing that sucks is storage. BEANS WTF
Dota 2 is honestly one of the only best competitive games ever imo. But the people in it (at least the ones who communicate) are actual human beings borne from garbage. If you get into it I recommend doing bot matches or the turbo mode before playing normal or ranked. Also mute every teammate and enemy at match start. Lastly there are a lot of moving parts in this game and you might feel overwhelmed but if you are fine with taking time to learn then you will be fine. I would only recommend it if you have high tolerance for ♥♥♥♥ skill teammates or have friends of your own to play with.

WTF are you trying to learn to play without talking to anyone? Being quiet won't help your enemy except to walk faster. The best way to avoid getting help from your team is to use mute.
