league is an easier moba and isnt as complex as dota.
I have no idea- why do I prefer chocolate icecream more than vanilla?
Sometimes there's no explanation more complex than just: "because".

OK I lied, my ACTUAL favorite flavor is rocky-road

I had a friend who played League try Dota and he left after 5 minutes because he didn't like having to manually move the camera and didn't like the turn rate mechanic. It's ironic because he had just said that he needed to get used to manually moving the camera to get better at League, but somehow having to do it on Dota is a problem

If you get used to one thing, and then trying something else that is similar-but-just-slightly-different might be worse than starting over with something completely new. Because you've already put in the effort to develop the muscle-memory to react to the old thing, and you've gotten used to it's quirks, but then the new thing feels kinda like the old thing-but-stranger, and it annoys you. Whereas getting into a brand-new-thing you don't have all those pre-existing expectations that you inevitably compare it to.

It's like getting used to playing bog-standard-FIFA-regulation-soccer, then having to adjust to indoor-soccer instead. Sure some of the same skills and mechanics carry over, but you've got to adjust for a smaller, harder, faster ball, a different field, fewer teammates, etc etc etc. Whereas if you tried to go from soccer to basketball, your brain would just reset and start over from scratch, and the old instincts that you used to be able to rely on won't be around to trip you up.

I understand the turn rate complaint as that is one of those minor details that would feel very odd coming from League as it makes it feel like there's some level of input delay when you're used to instant turning, but the whole camera moving thing just seems weird to me. After all, there's nothing special about Dota's camera movement relative to League's since they both function the same exact way. The only possible "complication" I could think of is that, since Dota has a lot of raised/lowered terrain, it could make the camera movement/angle look odd

People in lol often have camera locked on their character since there is little macro play.

That's like asking why do i like him more than I like you.

Dota has a lot more going on, which makes it a bit harder to get into, but imo makes it more interesting.

Dota is harder. You can go to any Clone from Dota and will have a good time, but it doesn't work the other way around.

You started with leagues, and you don't like to learn (= failing) as much as you thought.
I play LOL for fun and The E-Dating.

I play Dota 2 for addiction and masochism.

I also love the "We shall never surrender." moto in Dota 2. I am used to matches ending quite quickly in LOL, in Dota 2 you either fight till the end or get fountain farmed till the end. (Unless you are playing in a 5 stack and decide to call for a GG.)

Both are great games.
