Other way is to put yourself into some lane on minimap.
And finally you have chat so you can declare whatever you want from your role to your pant size to both allies and enemies.
That doesn't always work though. I've had loads of people pick characters that don't naturally gravitate to a certain role and then not say what they're doing, leaving me confused over whether I'm playing core or support.
It's nothing to do with getting the role I want, and more with just... Communication. I want to know what role needs to be filled, and that just doesn't happen most of the time. A little icon or something to let others know what role you intend to play could help with that, as it did in Smite.
i agree with Op, some teammates wont use chat in pick phase or just answer you too late before picking. it is a good idea
And again, as i said. there is a minimap. People use it to show what role they want to play for years now.
On classic rank the players normally use the mini map to declare mid specially as that is highly contested role.
On normal, it kind of doesn't matter as much because the existence of solid roles is not that common in normal matches, almost always you end up with a team that is majority core heroes.
Same with turbo too
2. Learn to adapt.
Sometimes I'm playing a hero like Vengeful Spirit or Venomancer, intending to support, but the game goes in such a way that it's better for me to transition into a core.
The game isn't as rigid as it used to be. Sven, Naga Siren, and Weaver have spent time as some of the best supports in the game in the last twelve months. Jakiro, who has always traditionally been a support, is a very powerful core right now.
The only things that have really stayed consistent are the very top level hard carries. Your Life Stealers, Phantom Assassins, Dragon Knights, Spectres, etc. Most other roles have become fluid unless you're playing at the absolute top level where the meta actually matters.
And as others have said, there's a ranked roles mode. If you're not playing that then you can't expect people to cater to your needs or wants. Learn to read situations and adapt to them. It's the only way you'll survive in this game.
Very easy. If a player has an "integrated" role, that causes many arguments. The integrated role could lead a player who registers for that to have limited choices during the "picking phase" for the heroes.
Thanks for reading and understanding.
