DOTA 2: What happened?

A handful of years ago the Dota team announced that they were excite to offer the players more, taking events into new directions and giving the players more to do and enjoy. I mark that as the downfall of Dota, though some may argue it actually happened before that. The last several years I've been exponentially loosing interest in playing because of several key reasons. The skins and items being released these last few years have been far worse in quality than they used to be. I'm not saying theyre all bad. But they dont have the same wow factor they used to. And some look like the creator was just downright bored or lazy when they designed it. The weather modifiers used to be available to get. They quit doing those. Towers and creeps had new skins more often. The games themselves have become so toxic its hard to want to play at all. You cant log into a match without someone rage pinging or slandering their teammates. There are plenty of options to reduce these issues and I see no interest to handle these things further from the developers. And then there is the "events". Crownfall takes the cake as the most annoying, fruitless, waste of grinding that the Dota team has made for us so far. This new direction they were so excited to share with us, is awful. I miss when you logged on, pumped out matches and earned your skins. You didnt have hoops to jump through, tokens and candy to collect, and mazes to run. Just to get an item you dont like. I hope someone from the Dota team reads this and passes it along. I miss when Dota didnt feel like a desperate grab at my wallet. When it cared about the game. And the quality behind the work.

My view on it, the map is too big and a lot of games are just boring farming games at least at my level.
