Option to turn off skins/costumes

Alot of new skins and costumes are just littered with particle effects that are not needed, ruining performance for lower end machines. We need an option to turn off all skins/costumes and just have it vanilla.

Can't you just turn your visual settings way down? It seems to me that if you can't run the game on minimal settings, maybe you should get a new computer.

I know this comment is four years old and valve hasn't done anything, but please, please, please put this option in the game. I genuinely struggle with some cosmetics to tell characters apart.
