I just want to say, for the first time in my Dota 2 history I've climbed to Ancient 2. I'm pretty proud of myself, and it's odd because if anything, age has made me a better player despite perhaps being slower than my younger self. And for context I once was a Herald V.

I play position 4/5 now, but have focused my skills to 4 or 5 heroes. CM, Pudge, HW, and Undying. And maybe that's what has really helped me climb the most. But anyways, while we all wait and suffer, please flame me or do w/e you need to spend your time as we sit here together not playing our beloved game

Edit: I see they just updated. Wasn't a long wait, I assume it's now fixed. But I hope you enjoyed this moment as much as I had.

Man wake up they change MMR system. 10 yeasr I was betwen 2,2k-2,5k and games was fun balanced and not onesided. In last 4 months I climb to 3,7k with belive me 0 change of my skill but games are so one sided and I was send to low prio moore time then of 10 year. You meet in 3,5k players who are account buyers it is normal that carry go 0-18 like my last game and party boys are so terrible that only it make sense that they change MMR system,

Well played my guy - after 3k hours I finally got the hang of it too despite my age...

12 game Win streak and climbed out of Elo hell from 1,6k mmr to 2,7 now and still going hoping to reach 3,5k

Totaly true last game I have like 3th medusa in row who buy first item mealstorm in 20 min game we play 4 we was wining 5,4 net worth diference. While our carry dusa 0-1-1 2k hero damage only in woods and he is 3,4k player. Cant join one fight we go rosh in 30 sec he loose it cos he go brainless mid in end 1-5-1 7k hero damage dusa who farm afk woods 28min . 4 months ago cant belive players like this will be even in 1,8k not 3,4k it is realy terrible change with MMR what they do.

Narrowing your hero pool to focus on just a few of them does help increasing the rank - I believe that's how I moved from roughly 2500 to 4000+ (around 4700 atm, recent change in mmr numbers didn't change anything for me)

Yea, if I recall, unless you were Immortal it has 0 impact on everyone else.

I do think what helped me move though is I needed to recalibrate for a good bit due to inconsitent play; so I ended up getting out of low Archon and got to Legend 2 before i fully calibrated I believe.

Before that I was herald => crusader => Archon; but now that I'm living adult life. I have months where I don't play at all.

In the old system you had your 10 games you could recalibrate like once a year. I like this rank confidence system way more.
