@Valve REEE-Release Old Arcanas (Particularly Dread Retribution)
Like are you kidding me? I come back to this game and I find out like there's a bunch of stuff I can literally never get? Why would you even do this, you're on your own diluting the market and preventing yourselves from making bank on the cut you get from items sold there?

You guys don't have integrity, you're already literally selling lootboxes and so-on to get players with uncontrollable urges to buy stuff they don't need by making them pay for things they fear to miss out on, which is quantifiable as an unpleasant design element of a live service game, and now just as a masterstroke you're not even letting us players get specific unique items? Not even for MONEY? What's the point in that!?

It's not like you entered into contract with anyone when you released stuff on battle passes etc. Re-release Dread Retribution (and all the other arcanas) for like $100. DO IT. Make some money. Give it to charity if it makes you feel bad, or the next international, whatever.

Literally killed my interest in this game just after I got back when I found this ♥♥♥♥ out. If I even knew the items I wanted existed at the time I would have dropped $200 on it, whatever. This isn't some telephone gacha game, why are you running it like one?

:steamsalty:

Actually you know what, I want some other people to make some noise about this, to SAY something, because as it is now, I am pretty sure Valve (slow monolithic beast that it is) is probably stuck in what they (cameron_dev) said on reddit a couple years back (2019), that,

"Although we don't currently have any plans for selling them later, they are not considered exclusive items in the way items marked as exclusive on the website like the Tiny Prestige or Axe Unleashed are. It's possible they will be available in the future in some form or another, but we aren't really sure yet."

We aren't really sure yet. Is that so? Well it's 2022, and I see no signs of them changing this perspective, and I understand that Valve likes to take its time and to take measured, cautious steps towards the future in everything that they do, but (imagine I'm checking an imaginary watch right now) it is FAR past time, Valve at least put down the BEGINNINGS of a foundation on which we, players, can earn/buy/purchase/trade/gift/whatever arcanas and other high value items that are as of this moment COMPLETELY untouchable by anyone who just wasn't paying attention at the time.

I'm hereby starting a campaign to anyone who will listen. MAKE SOME NOISE. LET VALVE KNOW YOU WANT THEM TO AT LEAST COME TO A FIRM DECISION ON THE SUBJECT. ENOUGH WITH THE WISHY-WASHY "well maybe you know who knows we don't know" STANDPOINT.

because otherwise people will not buy, people more likely spend money on "only in life chance", on limited, exclusive stuff, if they rerelease them it would be big middle finger to the devoted supporters of the game. also, single store arcana vs battlepass arcana is much less expensive. 100 bucks for Dread Retribution is like half of the release price you are lowballing.

Don't care. Poor excuse. I have a ton of exclusive items and I'd rather see them publicly available to everyone. I don't care.

If you buy a loaf of bread for $3 and then it is on sale next day for $1 you don't complain to the manager do you?

I want to see Valve publicly address the situation and say YES OR NO, whether or not they WILL or WILL NOT re-release various items, exclusive or not. A firm decision.

no one cares if you don't care.
that would mean pretty much death of their actual hardcore spenders who made them what they are, and tarnishing their reputation.
releasing new arcanas for same heroes yes, rereleasing old expensive stuff for much less, hard no.

You're arguing for a company that has already said they "aren't sure" what they want to do. They already have re-released items like the Invoker Persona.

I want Valve to release a statement about the situation that has plagued the game for the past 5 years, and which they still to this day have not made their mind up on.
Taweret Dec 19, 2022 @ 6:45am
invoker persona was pretty much one time thing slip up, you are comparing it to intentionally ripping off people by recycling old stuff for much less, far fetched assumption.

invoker persona set was part of vote, people picked up it, and it's not regular item like "arcana" it enchances whole model and not all sets are compatible with it, so you have to own the persona to even be able to use that set. people vote set, bought it and couldnt even be able to use it there is where they got pissed. valve had to fix it.
while arcanas do not have same properties as personas, they are no unique model that is incompatible with all other items. there is technically no situation where they would rerelease arcana by slip up, other than intentionally milking community by lazy recycling old items which would be actually pretty much like mentioned by you unprofessional chinese phone mobile no-quality company. plus invoker was supplementary reward to the main arcanas in battlepasses, sure there were people who only paid up to the invok arcana because they were not interested in anything else and i feel sorry for them but i would feel sorry for people who dropped the set from cache and could not use it as well, so i guess it's win-win situation since cache sets are anyway non-tradable you can gift them, but only once and the transaction is not that smiple because someone has to go first, that means supply is still hard limited, and not everyone will trade for it or have it and the price will skyrocket anyway because it's popular item. oh and if you are already user of that persona you can't gift it, it only comes from a unpacked bundle so that rule even more restrict the supply of that set. if you really want invok persona, go for it now, since it wont last long on occasional price.

Don't care, I want them to reconsider their current stance and start re-releasing items.

and why they would care what you want if you are ignorant? you opinion pretty much means nothing because arguments you are backing it up hurr durr they rereleased invok persona are weak.

business is based on trust, consumers trust them as reputable company that why use their services , rebuilding trust is hard, what you proposes is to ruin their trust because you want so.

It's inexcusable that Valve has still not made their position public and firm, I want to hear them say for all time what their intentions are with exclusive items and for them to release them to the public so past, present and future players can all earn/buy/trade/obtain the items in question if they so choose.

I am not asking for much.

No, bad ideia.
I totally agree. I didn't play on Drow Ranger when BP came out. But now I really regret that I did not buy arcana. At this point, I'm willing to pay 500$ for it. What can I do? This is very sad and unpleasant, because I really want this for myself. I'm sure there are other players like us.

totally agree. It seems that valve rely only to dota player addiction to the game and does not make anything to attract them. Maybe even worse, they keep pissing off the community, like with ringmaster delayed months, act iv announced "after TI" but never launched it.
