99% of the time people dont directly get reported because of this. They get reported because of the combination of playing bad and being toxic towards team mates and flaming them and trying to redirect blame because apparently its easier to spend time griefing after and spend time trash talking in all chat than simply appologising for making mistake.
I don't often go 1-8 in any game but looks like when I do I get a 4 hour sit out. Wonderful system.
People like me with a rating below 8000 don't have the right to speak. No one says anything, everyone just plays silently. But after every game, reports come in. The reason is obvious, no proof is needed. Everyone knows this. There are many people who report everyone on their team after a game. If you don't understand such a simple thing, there's no point in writing anything here. Get out of the topic you don't know.
I have recently had a midder as dusa afk Farming of course he got Grief reported and Overwatch instantly... Do the opposite of that... midder takes xp and goes make kills simple... Also if you have the patience don't play with Score anything bellow 12K simple you get griefers you get tilted even more you get reported even more.... The system is obviously flawed.. that is why you kite the system. You have plenty of tools to communicate without ever chatting and openning your mic. Even pro players don't do that, they just scream one words repeatedly and that's it... Pros in normal pubs will get insta muted....
Over and over again i get raged by idiots that don't know their basic role activities, then i get Overwatch. Of course I will report enemies that is the only way to actually root out griefers it is more effective. And since it is allowed you have to assume you are getting reported so report them also when they grief that is the point.
If both teams agree that it is griefed then the player goes instantly into Overwatch.
From 4 reports i am not sure if you open your mouth you will get but probably not instantly maybe 2-3 games it takes.
Look at me now .. trying to fill my time cause I got penalty... typing to cope and assimilate every time I say to myself stop talking stop being baited... how many times.. i think I finally worked it through... then i get even more raged somehow ... having 9k score .... it is Good says valve in the Dota plus.. good my ass.. 1 K 2 K ... 10K..11K ... 0 difference... all the same potential for a griefed game... People say even 12 K are lots of griefers... I bet atleast maybe they can play the game..
And ranked is more unfogiving... Losing a match up is one thing ... being useless all game and not having an impact means you don't know how your role works and can't even adapt to the situation.
And report system is neutral enough ... simple... you accumulate reports you do something wrong... go figure it out and stop doing it...
There is nothing useful in what is written here, just simple words that everyone says.
To answer your thread:
1. Everyone in a game should be able to report players. Period. Everyone is affected one way or another from toxic chat, smurfing or griefing.
2. Of course it should be automated when you reach a certain number of reports. 10 reports per 15 games is a lot and is an easy timeout, nobody cares about the sob story.
3. 4 hours is nothing, sometimes people need to take a break. But the way you're behaving you're gonna get longer ones in the future.
If you're getting reported for the role you're playing, change your role. You're not good enough for that role. Want to play the role no matter what, then thats a you problem. No amount of sobbing on this forum will help your case.
If you can't handle getting reported then just quit the game. It doesn't matter to the playerbase what you do.
2. Hmmm, I wonder if there is a way to abuse a stupid automated system that just counts number of reports as simple as possible....
3. That's a wild assumption considering I had 12k BS, and my match history is publicly available.
4. There is no good or not good enough for role, I'm crusader rank and I play like a crusader player, that has bad games once in a while. Doesn't mean I should be tanking mass reports and 4 hour bans for it.
You can't be banning players for playing bad while the matchmaking is a smurf heaven, especially on midlane. Make it make sense.
