The MVP and Honorable Mentions in this game doesn't make any sense. When I have top damage dealt, top damage taken and top kills and still no MVP?

i think it also matters what hero you play, if someone plays harder hero and does well on it, they may get mvp much easier.

do you really care about that? not like it increases your mmr. MMR is still linear so the systems still pointless

Yes, it is only a cheap (automated) way to give everbody from time to time a positive feed-back. It's this way because the community failed bad at handing out mvp votes by themselves.

The guy is asking why that system is working wrong.
Most Valuable Player is the one who put in more effort than others.

Yes, MVP is not rarely given to someone who should not.
The most revealing case that happened to me... In my team there was a Tiny player who immediately went into the forest, and into the forest of the enemy. He was there the whole game until the match was over. We won playing in four. He didn't join any fight. Nobody wrote anything to him, nobody insulted him. The reason for his behavior was similar to the fact that he was offended by the team in one of his past games, his feelings had not cooled down yet, and in this way he expressed his irritation to everyone and everything. Well, guess who got the MVP at the end of the game? Yes, Tiny. He was given the MVP for farming the most.
I don't know exactly how the MVP award works, but I think it has a lot to do with fantasy points, because players who give a lot of stuns often get into the MVP. There are some other skills that seem to contribute to giving you an MVP, such as Dazzle's cross, Pudge's hook. On some heroes, I can get MVP almost every game (for example, Gyrocopter, Tiny with an aghanim), and on others (Enigma comes to mind) - it's almost impossible.

The MVP system is real cheesy- it only counts those in-game metrics like killstreaks or stuns or certain accomplishments form abilities. It would be real easy to exploit if it did anything beneficial and anyone cared.

Frankly it doesn't make sense to me either. It appears to be either completely random or arbitrary.
Hm. I think what's happening is that every individual hero has his unique set of stats (like Sven's multi-hammer stuns, or multi-cleave kills) and if the hero breaks the average on it - he gets the mention and is probably somehow compared to other heroes along those lines.

The question is: if Sven gave 20 multi-hero stuns into just 2 heroes, but meanwhile Enigma got perfect 5-man blackholes like... 3-4 times. Which one of them gets MVPd? Which one of them gets mentioned? That's the part that's super vague is probably completely arbitrary.

Overall, as others said - don't worry about it. You will get MVPs when you don't expect and you won't get any when you think you should.

i play on 4-5 pos and 9/10 games im mvp anyway without kills and hero damage, lol

MVP system is false gratification now after lots of bad players cried on the forum so valve destroyed it.

When we had voting MVP system it was actually meaningfull.
