Poor quality audio in game
I have setup a computer and my audio sounds fine until I start a game. The audio sound like it is at a low bit rate and has like no bass. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have updated my drivers and tried all the options in the audio settings. It only happens when in the game. Once I exit the game the sound is fine again.

I'm having this happen too. As a control, I use the Volume icon in the tray and "ding" it. It sounds normal until I start DOTA, at which point the sound goes super crackly. It almost sounds like it would if I played the sounds through a cell phone and broadcast them on the other end.

Figured it out. I'm using a Bluetooth headset with a microphone. When the microphone is enabled, the headset switches codecs to something very low-quality.

I disabled the microphone in the Recording tab of Windows' audio settings and my sound is now great.
